And, Aggy, that's the same Pat Kennedy who coached at FSU, DePaul and Iona. Isn't Pat Kennedy's thing recruiting great classes and then being a terrible coach? That's what I remember from DePaul anyway...

That's what I remember from DePaul anyway... I remember watching a Depaul game (vs Providence I think) a couple years ago, I think when Pat Kennedy was still coach, in the last seconds of the game a Depaul guard tries to make a uneccesary cross court pass and hits the jumbotron, which turns the ball over Depaul loses. I remember that the coach looked completely indifferent after it happened, wheras he should have been screaming his head off. I suppose that's a coach who can "put guards in the NBA"

He helped Charlie Ward make it. His team is also the reason we didnt get to see Zo vs. Shaq in the NCAA tourney due to FSU knocking us out of the 92 touney. that game was over the minute zo fouled out...i still have it on tape!

Def wish him well, but I just can't swallow that pill. The Towson Tigers? They market their team on billboards along highways in Baltimore. "Pat's Cats". Man, wish he had gone to American or something like that.

some quotes from Thornton in here: www.newszap.com/articles/2007/01/05/dm/central_delaware/sports/dsnsp02.txtThornton will begin taking classes at the Baltimore-area school later this month and be eligible to play next December. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. “Georgetown is an excellent school academically and they have a good program,” the 21-year-old Thornton said on Friday. “It just didn’t fit my style of play. “They have a low-post, more slow it down type offense. It doesn’t really give guards the freedom to show their abilities and their skills. “I thought it was kind of stifling to me, knowing the type of player I am. What got me to where I was, was playing more of a fast-paced offense. And if I can’t really do that, then I’m going to be hurting myself in the long run.” ----------------------- Thornton says he chose Towson because of the chance to play for coach Pat Kennedy. In his previous stops at programs such as Florida State and DePaul, Kennedy coached a number of big-name guards such as Charlie Ward, Bob Sura, Sam Cassell and Clinton Richardson. “He knows what he’s doing,” said Thornton. “It’s a good opportunity for me to be coached by a guy like that.” ----------------------------- As far as the year he spent at Georgetown, Thornton says he’ll chalk it up to experience. “That comes with the decision to go to a Division I program,” he said. “You have to take the good with the bad. I learned a lot there. “I don’t regret the decision at all. It made me a better player and a better person. I’ve just got to do what’s best for me now.”
