The guys on the La Salle board think the scrimmage is at Georgetown.

Good find, bmartin. Could you provide a link to the LaSalle board so we can find stuff out from their spies, if any exist. It is sort of too bad that it isn't up at LaSalle because we could have invited Goodridge and Egerson to come by and soak it in, if not participate.

I don't know much about recruiting violations, but I do know that recruits are allowed to play pick-up, at the least, with teams in an unorganized setting. Maybe if JT3 and the other coaches left while the teams drew sides and left a camera rolling, we'd be able to comply in full with the rules.

Maybe I'm missing something, but pickup games shouldn't be a factor if a recruit is interested in a school.

Maybe if JT3 and the other coaches left while the teams drew sides and left a camera rolling, we'd be able to comply in full with the rules. DFW, I wasn't talking about pickup games. My point was merely that if the coaching staffs were involved and it was an organized thing, the NCAA would likely be very interested. I'd be worried they'd see 'marionette strings' in an 'unorganized scrimmage' between two schools. Probably too cautious on my part but you never know with those clowns. Looking through the NCAA recruiting guide, there is language about open practices and scrimmages that says recruits can attend but must be given complimentary seats in the general seating area of the facility used for conducting the event. This seems to have to do with midnight madness events etc. Addressing these pre-season scrimmages that have developed since the NCAA pretty much did away with preseason games like the Ft. Hood game, their interpretation of the rule says they are not open to the public (see below - #1 at the top of the link): www2.ncaa.org/media_and_events/association_news/ncaa_news_online/2004/08_30_04/membership_information/4118n26.htmlSince the GU-LaSalle scrimmage is probably one of these types of 'practice scrimmages' I'd bet the NCAA would consider that to mean recruits should not be there either. That said, does anybody have any info on how it went?
