33 minutes for Roy. There has been some concern about his conditioning, so that seems encouraging. We certainly need Roy and Jeff on the floor as much as possible this year.

There was a lot written about Roy being in much better shape this year. I expect him to be able to go 30+ minutes if he can stay out of foul trouble.

We should expect 30+ minutes from Roy in February and March, but I rather have the new players on the floor for as much as possible before the start of the BE. Why have Roy in the game when the team is up by 20 with our bench? It's a long season and we're going to need good minutes from the new players in February and March.

Valid, but two points to consider in this particular game: -The 20 point lead was a lot closer to 10 for most of the second half, and always felt a bit more precarious than it should have. Throw in the shoddy officiating, and their was reason for anxiety and keeping your best players on the floor -The team does not play again for a solid week, and in the next game I will be very surprised if Roy is needed for any more than 20 minutes or so. Let the big dog eat and get some confidence now.

Not only that, but I'd rather have Roy with plenty left in his tank when this (brutal) stretch rolls around: 02/07: at Louisville 02/10: MARQUETTE 02/12: W. VIRGINIA 02/17: at Villanova 02/21: at Cincinnati 02/24: PITTSBURGH 02/26: at Syracuse 03/03: CONNECTICUT That said, I was glad to see Roy get that kind of run Saturday, because it proves to himself (and everyone else) that he's capable of that kind of production and longevity. In my ideal world, we have 10 players averaging 15-25 minutes per game from now until 02/01 (at St. John's), so that when the above games come around: 1. The stars are rested enough for a big step-up in competition 2. The new/newer guys are totally ready to contribute in a tough slate of games.

BTW, I hadn't looked at the schedule for the February games since the schedule was announced. WOW! That stretch is the key to our season (and the post-season). Get the new players as much PT (and confidence) as possible...
