Some excellent follow up points in this thread, most important of which were the rushed 3's after we had built a 1st half lead. As you guys pointed out, it seemed like we were trying to hit them with a dagger instead of continuing with what was working for us, which was making them play defense for 30 seconds at a time and hitting cutters. Nothing frustrates a team more than having to play extended defense every possession and then giving up points, and it was obvious that Duke was getting extremely irritated by our offense in the first half. That brings up another point: for whatever reason, we had far less people making sharp cuts to the basket in the 2nd half. I thought the backdoor cuts and motion without the ball in the 1st half were easily the best we have shown thus far this year. Duke did step up their defense, but our motion was not nearly as crisp in the 2nd half.
I also saw the one Hoya fan get "hexed" by the Duke student section prior to the game. I was a bit too far away to get their attention, sadly. Also, the minor practical joke with our Hoya Saxa lettered signs which turned into a "you've been had" chant was mildly entertaining. Just good natured fun and games between opposing fans, as opposed to our encounters with our toothless counterparts from Morgantown.

Another second half comeback by Duke last night against Holy Cross. Not sure how much was K adjustments, Holy Cross cold shooting and turnovers or just a kick in the butt at halftime. Didn't see last Saturday's game but I would agree Duke is slow and a shadow of last year's team. Too bad we let that one get away.
