With his 11 for 21 start to the season from 3, Jon is now the career Hoya leader in 3 point percentage. His current 40.1% just edges out Dwayne Bryant's 39.9%. With 107 career makes to date, Jon is also a reasonably good bet to beat Kevin Braswell's career mark of 189 3's made.

Now THAT is an interesting stat! With Sapp and Wallace on the floor together, we essentially have two PGs, even though that position is less defined in JT3's offense.
If Wallace can maintain that % while being more agressive about taking shots... increasing his attempts...it will go a long way to nullifying the zones.
And Sapp will grow into his job this season. He has plenty of athleticism, hoops smarts, and passing ability.
Summers looks like he can shoot from deep too.
Just give this team a little time, and someone needs to wake up Jeff. Or he has to be feeling better, or something.
Happy Thanksgiving and Thank you JT3!

Chris... what were the best half dozen or so Single Season 3 Pt shooting records for GU?
As we know, Sleepy played in the pre-3 pt era, so we'll never know what his stats might have been.
I am really encouraged about this season. Where we were ranked pre-season, or now, or if we lose a few early season games.... those things are not important. How well this team comes together, working in two new starters and 3 bench guys. Getting them into the offense and playing cohesive defense. These things take time.
But during the second half of the BE season and into the post season, I think our guys will be ready and looking really strong. Maybe our secret weapon isn't Summers, or Rivers, or Crawford.... maybe it is really JT3 and staff. We have a great coaching staff and their presence will be felt as the season progresses.

In the Vandy game, I loved that Wallace was knocking down that mid-range 'J'.
I hope he does more of that this season.

People we still need better guards. Hi St Peter!! Of course you can always do better and that includes all positions. Of course I wouldn't mind having Hansbrough or Noah either. I suspect that your position is that we have a significant guard problem. A couple of questions for you 1. In our loss to ODU. Do you think it was a problem with our frontcourt or our guards?? Hint! Hint!! We were destroyed on the boards. 2. I am just curious. Of the guards who are playing in the Big East right now, with whom would you like to replace Jonathan Wallace?? Jerry

Hi Jerry
1. I think that the problem in the ODU loss was the team half-court defense and not directly attributable to the front court or back court. Granted Jeff didn't have an impressive game, but if he scored 11 or 12 points we still would lose by 1.
2. I wouldn't replace Wallace with anyone from the Big East. He's JT3's "security blanket" as some of my friends like to call him. Whenever we get down or need a spark he gives JW the green light to do something or runs a play with JW as the primary option. Not to take anything away from the other guards in the Big East - I just think that JW is the epitome of the guard position in JT3's offense.
