I think that's where the team (especially Jeff) was for this game too.

1st loss. The sky is not falling however. Good wake up call. Reminiscent of last years loss to Vandy early. They're 23-5 run killed the Hoyas. They shot impressively from 3. Where was Jeff? 2 points, foul out!

Yeah, this is this year's Vandy game, a frustrating loss. No Jeff Green, no perimeter defense=big problems for our boys. Too bad, because the crowd sounded great. We will could drop quite a bit after this one. Hopefully a big bounce back against Hartford. Expectations can be a bitch.

My biggest problem is that there is no excuse for a team with our front line and good rebounding guards like Sapp to get completely destroyed on the boards by any team.....never mind a team at the level of ODU. I give them credit- they wanted it bad......our guys did not show up on the boards and played a sloppy game. The upside of this is we get an early wake-up call.....I'm not going into any downsides because it is way too early to start getting too negative. I'll just say there had better be a HUGE improvement in effort in the games to come.

this is a huge, huge, huge loss. Number 8 in the country? If we wanted to even stay CLOSE to that, we had to win these easy games. We cant lose games to easy teams outside of the Big East. We dont need much of an out of conference schedule with the big east, but it isnt gonna look good losing to this team.

The only chance for the Hoyas to rank in the top 10 this week is for the Hoyas to finish in the top 10 at the XC NCAAs in Indiana tomorrow. Go HOYAS!!!

Absolutely unacceptable. Worst loss in a long time. We are ranked top 10, lose to a mid-major at home, on campus. We are out-rebounded by a hefty margin by a team we tower over. Oh, and our best player spent 3/4 of the game sitting on the bench reading press clippings and draft prognostications due to his (habitual?) foul trouble. Our back court turned the ball over on 5 straight possessions, basically handing the game to some pretender school.
The worst part about it, apparently ODU went 2-3 zone and just shut us down...now if that won't be a blue print to every future opponent we face, what else will. This team better wake up, because we just went from a consensus tourney team to the bubble.
I better not read another story about Thanksgiving at the Thompson household, because none of these cats deserve turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes or pumpkin pie. I saw run them into the ground until they decide they want to play. That was a gutless performance and it deserves all the flak it will draw from the media. We showed we are soft and easily beaten by a simple defensive adjustment. If we don't really regroup, we could be looking at one of the most disappointing seasons in a longtime. I mean that in the sense that expectations are soooo high, we have the potential to bomb out.
