pretty much agree w/you. especially about AKD calling the cops except AKD more then likely doesnt follow the street code. IMO, he should have whupped Riles ass instead of calling the cops, if that's what he did..
First of all, one thing is getting in a fist fight, especially if guys are a little drunk, angry over money, etc, but it's quite another to beat the crap out of a friend and/or teammate.
Of course, these things can be blown out of proportion, and perhaps it was not much more than a good old-fashioned fist fight. However, I would doubt that AKD would call the cops and charge Riles with assault unless he was either severly beaten or really scared by Riley's threats. It could be the case that AKD (or a friend/roomate) over-reacted. I hope this isn't the case, because I know that if someone beat me up at Georgetown, especially a teammate, I wouldn't call the cops, unless it was REALLY bad!
I know I may sound a little old-fashioned or meat-headish, but even if you get beaten up for no good reason, it takes quite a Edited to deal with this by calling the cops, rather than by settling it in-house. Especially given that this was a teammate, you would think AKD could have approached the coaching staff or others to handle the situation. But of course, it seems that AKD was the victim here, and I don't want to blame him. But on the other hand, sometimes the victim is simply the guy who lost the fight.
Who knows? As I said, this is nothing more than specualtion on my part, and I'm not pointing fingers in either direction. Beyond the fact that Riles was brought in on assault charges, we don't know much more.
Of course, we never like to hear these stories, but you guys must realize that an assault charge can vary tremendously. It is one of the most common charges after underage drinking, public drunkeness, public urination, disorderly conduct, etc. Whilte I'm not trying to minimize the situation, sometimes it can result form nothing more than a threat or regular fist fight. Of course, at times it can be much more serious, but it is basically a misdemeanour.
The fact that Riles is a HOYA is the reason why it got picked up by the press. It could simply have been that DOPS got called, and because of the physical nature of the encounter, and blood, etc. they were required to call METRO. It could be nothing more than one of many fights that takes place repeatedly among young men at any college campus regularly every year.
Well, first of all, I hope that AKD is alright. Next, I hope that both players can put this behind them, and although unlikely, make the peace. Next, while I don't see it as being a big blemish on the program, I would hate to see this story overshadow all of the excitement surrounding the program of late. Well, it's late, and I'm going to go to bed.
If I'm not mistaken, I think this is my 50th post, which should bring me up to 2 stars, something that MEGAFAN should not be too proud of, given that back in the good old days, I think I ranked among the most frequent posters. But hey, I'm about quality these days, not quantity.
GO HOYAS!!!

This is really a weird story, and a very unfortunate situation, but I don't think any of us can rush to judgement given that we don't have all the facts. Most likely, we never will, but a couple of things intrigue/concern me.First of all, one thing is getting in a fist fight, especially if guys are a little drunk, angry over money, etc, but it's quite another to beat the crap out of a friend and/or teammate.
