No, I dont think so, and I certainly hope not. I'm pretty sure that's just the way they designed that line of apparel, I don't think Cal and UNC are going to start wearing black, and Im pretty sure we're gonna try to keep the traditional Blue and Gray under JT III.

I dont fall in love with non blue and gray Georgetown apparel. But if this stuff can sell and make some money I'm fine with it as long as we wear Blue and Gray on the court.

Although I don't believe -- and really, really hope -- that this will not change the direction of our on the court unis, this doesn't bode well for us in the long term. I am a regular visitor to Eastbay (a few times every other week) and use them as a metric to determine how our brand is doing by the number of offerrings in their catalog. As other threads have pointed out products based on our brand have been rather stagnite in the past five years -- meaning non-existent, except for a few hats, jerseys, shooter shirts, t-shirts and shorts. But I feel we are just about to turn the corner. I believe if we do well this year, you will start to see Georgetown enter the packaged set of universities in the different products developed for college basketball teams. However, these particular products aren't the direction we need to go. I realize we're a Jordan brand and that Coach has say in what is developed, but these just seem to be off. The overlapping diamonds reminds me of the UNC unis from a few years back. And not only are they black/charcoal gray, but they re-introduce the horrible powder [errr, Electric?] blue. I completely understand brand extension and can even appreciate the use of "alternate" colors. I have several Yankees hats in various colors and patterns. Because at the end of the day, it is the NY logo that carries across the colors. However, I just don't think we are at this point yet. Yes our G and bulldog are recognizable, but aren't on enough current products. We need an established product line that grows based on our identity before we branch out. Where are the normal products? And seriously, G-TOWN? Look, I normally like what Nike does (okay maybe not the Oregon football uniforms ... but they're doing good with their high-end brands -- Jordan Brand is another thing, they are really hit or miss and mainly miss in the past few years), but I'm gonna channel DFW here and say that this is bull Edited. Hopefully this is just a limited edition set of products and won't define our mainstream identity for the year. + + + Just so you know these are the products that are new to the Eastbay catalog within the past few days: -- Jordan Men's Striped Short -- tinyurl.com/rd4tz-- Jordan Men's Full-Zip Knit Pant -- tinyurl.com/l7ja2-- Jordan Men's Jordan Hooded Sweater -- tinyurl.com/mhmyt-- Jordan Men's Striped Sleeveless Top -- tinyurl.com/m3p63-- Jordan Men's Full-Zip Knit Jacket -- tinyurl.com/nehgl

I'm conflicted. Is it possible to call B.S. or shenanigans, while at the same time saying that I wouldn't mind owning a pair of those shorts and that sweater MINUS THE STUPID DIAMONDS. I mean, like when 007 and DFW weren't looking and never during a game?

What's with the prices?! Big up to Marbury for those new shoes. 65 bucks for track-suit PANTS (not even the full thing)?! But what else is one to expect from Jordan and Nike.

Hate to bring up a thread from the dead, but I've meant to reply for a while. About a week or two after this thread started, Kenny Izzo was wearing some Jordan b-ball shoes (not Air Jordans, the cheaper team shoes) that seemed to be just normal ones you could buy in the stores. What I didn't see at first was that they had "G-TOWN" embroidered toward the top of the upper section. I don't know if the shoes were just made to match the line available on Eastbay or if it means something more.
