It was pretty well attended, probably 80 or so people in Copley Formal Lounge.

I sincerely hope that Etan Thomas was heckled, booed and ridiculed at least in jest...

Anybody know whether the Lecture Fund and the BSA solicited this panel discussion? The fact that Rhoden came out with a highly publicized new book this summer, combined with the fact that "many similar panels [are] to be held across the country in the coming months" makes me think Rhoden and/or his publisher came to GU with the idea. Not saying that's bad, I probably would have gone to this thing had I been on campus, but it may explain the lack of enthusiasm/promotion on the part of the student groups.

As far as I know, the lecture fund was not involved with the Rhoden/Thomas panel.
Forde talk was interesting, some funny moments included. Didn't say too much that HoyaTalk people don't already know, but I don't think anyone expected that. Had Pitt-GU-Cuse 1-2-3 in the Big East preseason. Jeff is his tentative BE POY.
Anyone realize he played high school football for Gary Barnett? Said he was a real disciplinarian. Ha.

I agree with hoyals in that forde said little (if not nothing) that i didn't know about the hoyas. Regardless, its unfair to expect him to know much more than die hard hoya fans. I found the most interesting part of his talk to be his anecdotes as a writer and columnist, such as his confrontation with Bobby Knight. Overall, it was a very good talk, although a few of the student questions were a bit farfetched.

As mentioned previously, if you want to learn about Kentucky or Louisville, Forde is your man; otherwise, there's no reason to think he knows anything that we don't know about the Hoyas. Get Barker Davis if you want that.

too many people asking the same question over and over again...we get it, Aaron Gray and Roy are the best centers in the Big East...Ohio State and UNC are his top picks for the national championship..i thought his pre-question stuff was pretty good tho
