Has there been any indication from the Athletic Dept./Nike as to whether they will stick with the real school colors for the upcoming season's home and away jerseys? I can't remember when the news came out last year that we were going back to the Navy and Grey?

Rumblings inside Mcdonough seem to be toward Teal and Mauve. Of course, JT III will go traditional. It's that tradition that made his father, and now him, wealthy.

How much input does the school have vs. what Nike wants?

I think we probably have a bit more input with Nike than most schools because we've had a close relationship with them going back into JTII's days - and JTII was one of the first very big Nike coaches on the college level.

Here's the sad part,
even if it's teal, mauve, ochre, and burnt umber as long as it still says "Georgetown" on the front and "55" on the back....
I'm buying it.

We have to stick with our true school colors, dark blue and gray. Those jerseys we wore prior to this season were absolutely hideous and as fans we need to make sure Nike and the Athletic Department know how we feel about this issue.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a keyboard macro for that paragraph, or do you have to type it out in full every time? ;D

Georgetown Traditions: The Blue & Gray
Georgetown's colors are blue and gray. The colors were selected in 1876 by the Georgetown College Boat Club (the original crew team) in honor of Georgetown students and alumni who wore the Union blue and Confederate gray in the Civil War.
The above was borrowed from the HoyaSaxa.com web site. Tradition, ladies and gents, tradition.

Gotta stick with the Dear Old Blue and Gray. We first wore "medium blue" in '75 (anybody who was there know is this means teal?), went back to navy in '82, went to royal in '89, and had sky blue in '02 - '05. see www.hoyabasketball.com/features/uniforms.htm. i know we had teal at various points in the past couple decades but I can't remember the exact years.

Yikes! I think we gotta' bring back those 1968-72 unis. Those'd scare opponents right off the court.
