According to Andy Katz, he's one of the likely candidates...
Check the possibilities for the 2007 NBA draft and it's obvious why some of the underclassmen fence-sitters may stay in the 2006 draft. The 2007 NBA draft lottery could be filled up by seven schools if a number of high-profile underclassmen leave. Potential lottery picks (with class as of the 2007 draft) include Ohio State freshman Greg Oden, Duke sophomore Josh McRoberts, Florida's juniors (Joakim Noah, Al Horford and Corey Brewer), North Carolina's freshmen (Tywon Lawson and Wayne Ellington) and UNC sophomore Tyler Hansbrough, Texas freshman Kevin Durant, Georgetown junior Jeff Green, and three Kansas players (sophomore Brandon Rush, junior C.J. Giles and freshman Darrell Arthur).
If all of these underclassmen come out, the lottery could be filled. That should make it an easier decision for some underclassmen to stay in this year's draft. Or does it?

It's awful presumptive in that, no matter the hype, a decent number of the Darrell Arthur, Greg Oden, Tywon Lawson, Wayne Ellington and Kevin Durant group just won't have performed well enough to be a lottery pick (or be happy with their spot).
Throw in the fact that both Brewer and Horford are borderline, Jeff may be a bit borderline and CJ Giles shouldn't be anywhere the lttoery and its a much better draft than this one but I really can't see that exact scenario coming true.

We all know Jeff could be lottery if he improves his shooting and defense.
But if he does those things, we're a legitimate title contender so we really can't complain. I'd much rather have a guy like Jeff who is a hard worker and a player that knows he needs to work on his game to improve his draft status than his co-freshman of the year two years ago. He could have finished 2nd in a 7th grade FT shooting competition this year and still have been a Naismith Finalist and Top 5 pick (and it really showed in his effort at times).

We all appreciate the recognition, but I don't think Green will be going anywhere. No knock on him, and Taurean certainly grew up tremendously from his Freshman season to his sophomore, but the early exits from our team are far more likely to be Noah, Horford and/or Brewer.
LOL
Oh, you were talking about Jeff Green. He is a stud for sure. But it's really hard to predict nearly a full year in advance.
(Buffalo, don't jump down my throat, this was done in jest.)

Jeff's mom will make sure he stays, gets his degree, leads us to the title in '08, and THEN is a lottery pick.

He can always come back and get a degree...
If he averages 17 pts and 8 boards next year, he's got to go...

Agreed. If he has a solid season this year (not so much up-and-down from game to game), then he will be a lottery pick, and no one can blame him for leaving.

I think he wants a title- and who can blame him for that either?
Ewing is a champion, but he only title he earned was his GU 1984 title. What if he had left after his Soph year? He'd be without that. He stayed, won and was the #1 pick.
There is an argument to be made for staying and winning, tho it is admittedly different now than the mid-80s.

nbadraft.net has Jeff G. going #14 and Roy going #22. I could see both being lottery picks if Roy improves at a rate similar to last off-season.

He could be a fairly high pick, but I doubt that he's ever top ten, so it will be interesting to see what happens. It's really way too early to speculate. Let's just hope that he has a healthy, productive season, and then go from there.

I always have felt Green would leave after his junior season. Still feel that way. And if the Hoyas keep recruiting quality frontcourt players we better get used to players leaving early as well as hoping they are good enough to do so. Otherwise you have a logjam and too many unhappy players complaining. I hope Jeff has a great season and if he leaves after that then so be it. We are lucky to have him THIS long.

MCI think it couldnt be said any better. kind of lucky in this era anymore to have a guy like jeff in your system for 3 years (sorry to say it)...find a guy 6'9 who can play the 3,4,5-is very athletic, great passer, and can shoot it always hears from the nba after fresh year-thank god he flew under the radar thus far...
