I think Hoya Blue should become a frat.

Not to interrupt the argument over whether un-recognized fraternities should exist at Georgetown or not, but I wanted to say that AEPi's event was moved to Monday because OCAF believes that a big event in Red Square would somehow conflict with a Peace Conference going on in front of Healy. I also wanted to point out that this is a charity event for a good cause and that it shouldn't matter that a fraternity is running it. Just in case people were wondering, AEPi is a social Jewish fraternity and provides a social outlet for male students at Georgetown who are interested in Jewish culture. It's not exclusive to Jews and has non-Jewish members, so it tries to stay away from the "J-Frat" nickname. Anyway, I'm not saying ths Georgetown should recognize fraternities, but I just want people to know that AEPi has only been a positive aspect of both the school's social scene (the fraternity parties are not exclusive and rushing is not difficult) and that it follows the Jesuit ideals of caring for others- hence this great event that will now be happening on Monday. I hope all of you in the DC area will make it for the basketball players at 1pm and the chance to pie me at 2pm.

Hey everybody, just wanted to remind you that the AEPi throw which was orignially scheduled for last Wednesday will be held today (Monday) in Red Square from 11-4. The basketball players are still scheduled to be pied at 1pm. Come out and support Hibbert, Green, Sapp, and Crawford as they participate in this charity event! Oh yeah, as St. Pete said, I'll be getting pied at 2pm.

I'd like to point out that while throwing a pie at any of the players is fun, its just more satisfying to throw them at NYR320.

I totally agree, Nitro. Gtown is like one really big frat anyway, ya know? I can't imagine going to a school where I'm supposed to not like somebody just because the letters they associate with are different. My buddies at UCSB, Cal St Fullerton, etc. used to get in fights all the time over that b.s. And, if you think about it, Gtown doesn't need frats - our livers would be worse off than they already are!
I hope the Pi throw went well today, sounds like a really fun idea. Also shows what a special group of players we have, like you guys said.

I say we go over to these "frats" and burn them to the ground. Lets go to the GW frat row and burn them down too. We need to stop this evil before it spreads. Preemptive war on Frats.
Mob justice is the only justice.

Down with these fraternalistic evil-doers!
Statistics show that these "frat" organizations foster brotherhood and a sense of belonging in a strange, new place. Now, we all know that statistics reflect what people are thinking in 'reality.' And reality has a well-known liberal bias. . . .

The Jesuits only believe in one Secret society's right to exist. Hence, no frats.

The Jesuits only believe in one Secret society's right to exist. Hence, no frats. However, frats exist at other Jesuit schools.

My bad DFW. Our Jesuits only believe in the right of one secret society to exist... Yeah, and it exists mostly as a punchline.

I was under the impression that most jesuit schools didn't have frats?

hmm but according to that site we have 8 frats here on campus so maybe it's just that jesuit schools don't recognize the frats but that doesn't stop them from existing.

At the risk of bringing this thread back on topic -- how did the pie throw go? Are there any pics?
