I don't know that "parody" is really the right word...but yea, nice to see nodak get some props in print. Today, The Hoya. Tomorrow - Rolling Stone?

Yeah Nodak! Great article, great pub. If there are people on campus who still don't know who you are, they do now! Keep the hits comin'. Also, big song giveaway at the end of the article. Not sure how I feel about it, but I'll wait until I hear the eagerly anticipated Nodak version. EDIT: The print version of the article is much better, it makes up the center two pages of the Guide and has a picture of Nodak as well as a collage of the players, fans and song lyrics. Pick it up if you're around campus.

As for the song give-away, The working title is "Season on the Rise."
And, it's is not even close to being done!

I just saw this in the guide while I was eating lunch at Leo's, great stuff! The actual print version does look great and everyone who can get their hands on a copy definitely should. Congrats Nodak, and thanks again for all the inspirational songs.

Big ups to The Hoya Staff for doing a great job in capturing the underground sensation Nodak. It is always great to see The Hoya getting things right, now if only the Voice could start pitching in.
Its just great to see The Hoya realizing that basketball on this campus is a big deal and writing good articles about all things related.
Keep up the great work Nodak, I am really excited about the Green Day song since it is one of my all time favs.

When my guitar and singing skills get up to par (which is probably never, but I'm gonna try), I'm going to write a song about Nodak. ;D

Congratulations on the well-deserved recognition, Nodak. I had no idea that you had such an accomplished life outside of the performing arts!
Go Hoyas!

When my guitar and singing skills get up to par (which is probably never, but I'm gonna try), I'm going to write a song about Nodak. ;D My surrogate must be better than me. I once tried to teach myself the guitar, but I couldn't even tune it. I do a passable imitation of Bob Dylan, but a little worse than the original. Seriously, great props to Nodak, who led the Hoya Nation in song last year and this year. It is great that it is a sensation. ;D

May I make a suggestion for Nodak: most of my particular age group (18-24) has heard that Green Day song at every graduation, etc. We don't really like it. Use Alanis Morriset's "Thank you" - yes I am aware that song blows as well but I couldn't stop laughing thinking about you using a falsetto and singing the following:
"Thank you Jessie, than you Roy, THANK YOU THANK YOU ASHANTI - yeah"
Anyways, I have lost more than 1,000 man points for this post. I will now shut up.

I will now shut up. One reason why Generation Burton did suck (and uh, seriously dude, you're like six months younger than me so you were one hilarious case of copying in Kindergarten away from being right there with me on this): Popular overplayed HS graduation-type song in 2000. Two words (well, one and a letter): Vitamin C www.lyrics007.com/Vitamin%20C%20Lyrics/Graduation%20Song%20Friends%20Forever%20Lyrics.htmlI think I finally found a song even StPete won't sing. And nodak will never cover. Since that URL has 007 in it, that reminds me nodak. What you should REALLY work on next is doing one about 007's unexpectedly sudden but happy rise to the Presidency of Hoya Blue. I'm thinking the theme from "The Greatest American Hero" here. www.lyricsdownload.com/joey-scarbury-theme-from-the-greatest-american-hero-believe-it-or-not-lyrics.html

As far as Allanis Morissette, all I can think of is the Jimmy Fallon SNL Halloween version (Thank you Mike and Ike, thank you candy corn, thank you Smartieeeeeees). I have been incubating another option, too. I might put this up as a plebiscite.

While I love all of you, I am whole-heartedly against the using of Alanis' "Thank You" because frankly, I don't want anyone to even THINK of recreating the video.

As cliche and overplayed as that song is, I still think it's a great song. Not Green Day's fault that it's played everywhere this time of year. And I know you're joking about Alanis, but still, dear God, that would be horrible. Looking forward to seeing how Nodak tops off the year, "The End of the End" last year was a great retrospective and one of my favorites, I can only imagine what he'll do to top that this year. No pressure, Nodak, but I am expecting big things... Haha, just kidding, anything you do is golden.
