EXCERPT: Bowman likes the new motion offense, as well, and thinks the new-look, team-first Hoyas, picked to finish 11th in the league, could be underrated. "I guess that's to be expected after last season's performance," said Bowman. "But all I've got to say about that is nobody remembers where you start, only where you finish." www.washtimes.com/sports/20041028-120436-3809r.htm

That's a great quote by Brandon! Hopefully he can make people remember us finishing much higher than expected this season.
Interesting stuff about the offense. It's good to see the guys like it and seem to be buying into the team-first attitude. I can't wait till the open practice this Saturday.

I'd certainly like to see Brandon display a team-frst attitude when he gets the ball near the three-point line, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Good article, I'm very interested to see what this new offense will look like. If first week of practice was ugly, then I expect to see some ugly games too early on during the "adjustment" period. Players sound extremely positive, however, which is to be expected at this juncture but nevertheless good to see. Hopefully there will be a lot more motion and a lot less confusion.
Our interior D was atrocious last year, too, and the aforementioned freshmen will be a big part of that.
Still remaining cautiously optimistic. Come on Hoyas, show me something this year.

When did Bowman become Iverson in terms of taking shots (no offense to AI)? Based on your comments one would think all he ever does is jack up shots without ever looking for teammates. Anyway I'm glad the Times got the "memo" about BE media day but are the lines of communications STILL down at the Washington Post ? OT: I would have zero problem with a thread about the Red Sox winning it all on this forum as long as it was just one. The problem was that the threads themselves kept multiplying but I don't think any of us had an issue with Sox fans discussing the Sox's post season in general.

Agree on all issues. As for the sox threads I also think that one would have been acceptable. I was personally annoyed when a bunch of separate threads started popping up and when people starting referring to baseball in a lot of the basketball threads. One OT thread per topic shouldn't be a problem, there just has to be a point where you draw the line.

I was personally annoyed when a bunch of separate threads started popping up and when people starting referring to baseball in a lot of the basketball threads. One OT thread per topic shouldn't be a problem, there just has to be a point where you draw the line. I'm sorry. I think stream of consciousness posters like me are partially responsible for that kind of thing. (not me personally, but those like me; I am not responsible for the simple reason that I rarely if ever post anything worthy of a response). Talking about one issue, randomly bringing something else up, I think it makes people want to start a new thread for that topic alone. I for one will try to be more on message, particularly with the season just a couple of weeks away. Now, what was this thread about? And how about Leo McGarry biting the big one on West Wing last night, huh? Didn't see that coming (except in the 500 season previews that showed him having a heart attack). Sorry, just kidding. Regarding Brandon's comments (which were great), and the idea of team-first, I would like to vote for collective amnesia about anything that happened last season among Hoya fans. I think it was a frustrating season for everyone, players included, and I think Ashanti Cook's quote is one we should heed as well. If we're going to have a fresh start, let's have a fresh start for everyone. I think B.B. is perfectly capable of playing unselfishly and working with all of his teammates in JTIII's offense. Its good that he has a little "time for me to take over" in him, but if he can make better judgements at times, the two are not mutually exclusive.
