Did anyone read the article about venture capital funds set-up strictly to benefit a Universities sports programs? It was in the Monday NCAA section of the Wall Street Journal. It appears that Stanford was the first to do this and they have been very successful in growing the fund and paying for their sports facilities. Northwestern, Duke & UCLA have all had prior grads set these up. I know there are plenty of former Hoyas in venture capital and it would seem like a win-win. I know it would take quite a few years to build up, but if Stanford set theirs up in the 80's and it has tens of millions invested and has paid out a good bit to the sports programs already, why couldn't we do this? Stadium anyone?
