I had to turn off the TV for a while to walk away in disgust. I'm now surprised to see that Villanova is losing, but much more so that something terrible seems to have happened to Allen Ray. Did anyone see it? The hushed tones that Schulman and Elmore are using makes me worry that he's going to lose an eye or something. What in hell happened?

krauser poked him in the eye...it looked pretty gruesome on replay - there was a lot of white showing...he walked out with a team doctor covering his eye and was apparently put in an ambulance with his parents...hope he is oK
cant believe pitt is going to win this game - just disgusting

Krauser poked him in the eye. Looked real bad. The on-court reporter said that the doctor took one look at him and immediately called for a stretcher.
If there's one team that's been ridiculously snake bitten with injuries over the past few years, it's Nova. Terrible break for them.
And yeah, Pitt winning is awful. Just gives more hopes to SUcks to successfully defend.

Hope he's okay. Looks like Pitt's going to blow them out, but this has to dampen it more than a little bit.

just got back from MSG...and i saw that replay on Tivo. it was pretty awful. tonight's loss sucked, badly, but that kid could have lost an eye [no exagerrating]. keep him in your thoughts, even at the expense of brooding for a half a second.

Happy to hear on ESPN that he is out of the hospital with vision returned to his eye...wasn't as serious as it appeared, yet his status for the NCAA tourney is uncertain.

That is certainly good new, Miami. You never want to see a kid hurt like that where it could potentially ruin the rest of his life, much less his basketball career. Hope he's able to play in the NCAAs.

I hope that Allan Ray is OK and able to play in the upcoming tourney. I also hope that if he is not able to play the committee will still give Nova a 1 seed. I think it would be terrible if they are not awarded it. This is a team sport and the team deserves the seeding not one player. They played hard all year in the toughest conference in the country and deserve it. Hopefully it won't come to this and Nova will be able to get Ray back in time for the dance.

That was a terrible thing to see in real time. I had a great view of it (8 rows off the court), and it was just bad. I couldn't believe they didn't call a foul. Glad to hear he is doing better.

When you see something like this, it makes you remember what this is all about. When I read all of the negative and sometimes hateful comments on the board I realize the passion we all have for the hoyas can sometimes get the better of us. This brings us back to the reality that it is only a game, played by kids. It is meant to be fun and entertaining. These are all great kids. I'm glad Allen appears to be okay.
I must admit however that the first thing I thought of was Big John's deflated basketball.

Some very kind things you all have had to say. It looks like Allan is going to be OK. The first rumors/reports were really awful but as the night went on it appeared he was getting better. Supposedly his vision has returned, but I don't know if he's back to 20/20 yet.
I think I can speak for all Nova fans in that the game was meaningless to us after that injury. I am not sure we would have been able to come back even with Ray, it just didn't feel like our night. I don't think Krauser did anything intentional, but he could have acted a bit better IMO. His Bronx X crap could have been shelved for the rest of the game, but whatever.
Anyway, thanks for your kind words about our guy. I would hope Nova fans would act the same if one of yours had gone down.
Good luck the rest of the way.
