I'm LOVING the classic look of the "final four" ... was rooting for Pitt for that reason. Should be a great weekend at the Garden.

I actually feel good about this matchup. The key to beating Syracuse is to attack its zone at its vulnerable spot, at the center around the foul line. It's not that all teams don't know that, it is just that most teams don't have a Brandon Bowman or a Jeff Greene to do that. I suspect that those two will give Syracuse fits tonight. What do you think???

This is one of those games for me that will define the entire season. The first win against SU was nice, but will be completely forgotten if we don't win this one. I WILL NOT be able to survive here in SU country if we do not win this game.
I really like our chances here. I can't believe SU has enough in the tank to sustain another 40 minutes of intense play. Our games have been close, but nothing like the SU/UConn game. If it is really true that the Rat is hurting, all the better. Let's put in Izzo to check that groin out George Mason style.......OK, maybe that is a bit too harsh, but then again, it is SU!!!!!
Radio people around here keep saying that SU has been the "talk of the college basketball world" for the past 2 days. Well, it's time to put an end to that talk. Let the whining start and let the excuses begin.......WE ARE GEORGETOWN and WE WILL CRUSH THE ORANGE!!!!!!!
HoyaFanNY- if we lose and you hear a loud scream coming from just south of Utica......that will be me!

I was at the 2/25 game. I thought we shredded their zone and had good shot selection against it.
Their 2-3 relies on good wing players and Hakim and Carmello ain't in the house.
I hope the common sentiment about their tank being empty is right, but fatigue cuts both ways and after all, this is Syracuse-Georgetown. They'd like to pin a loss on us as much as we would them.

Just made a quick pass over the two 'Cuse message boards I could find.
Nary a mention of G'Town anywhere. Although there are four or five MASSIVE threads destroying Gott-dweeb. Which you've gotta love...

I just scored tickets, so I'll be in the house! Section 427, which I believe is somewhere in New Jersey. It's all good though, cause the Hoyas are going to crush the Orange.

Highsmith, I feel you - there will be an accompanying wailing down here in Albany if we can't get this done - but I feel confident we will whip them up and down the garden. Just like old times!

I would prepare as if GMac is going to play. I suspect gamesmanship on Boeheim's part.
Key for us, as Jerry aptly noted, is to attack the middle of the zone and ask JW to do more off the dribble to split the defenders at the top of the zone. He'll have opportunities for kick outs and dump downs, which should hopefully result in layups, open shots, and SU fouls.
If GMac plays, I would like to see us press. Generally, I think we're quicker at the guard spots, and SU guards are not as comfortable with the ball as others we've seen. We did a good job at the MCI against SU of pressuring selectively to keep them honest and guessing.

UGGGHH, I wanna throw up. I just spoke to my mom who works here in the Syracuse area school district. They actually delayed a bus run from the school so that kids and teachers could watch the end of the game yesterday. All my Cuse friends who a week ago couldn't wait til Macnamara was on a bus back to Scranton now think he's a god. I'm headed to the heaviest packed Cuse bar in town tonight with Hoya pride. I just hope we get off to a quick start unlike the last couple games. Crush the Orange early and often. I'd put this game up there with landing on the moon, hell... its more important!!

Bowman's been saving himself for these games. Now he's got some extra gas in the tank. Some people thought he "disappeared" in a few games during the regular season. Little did we know that that was all part of the master plan.

Destroya, you are a strong man - if you're going to abar in Syracuse, that means drinking either Schaffer's or Rhinegold all night long, that's the best you can get in the sticks. Be careful not to get too wild when the Hoyas crush their beloved Orangeboys - some of them 'Cuse boys might get ta thinkin' you gots a real pretty mouth.

Jay Bilas: "Brandon Bowman is a senior playing with some urgency." He noted that Bowman didn't always play with a lot of fire the whole season (fair enough), but this was definitely meant as a compliment for how Brandon's played the last two days. Brandon, time to get the ball at the foul line in the soft spot of the zone, and explore the interior, to quote Len Elmore. You got the length and the first step, and no one on SUcks can defend you. [EDIT] Props to Jerry LH for getting to the soft spot first. We gotta go inside first. We can't fall in love with the 3 too early.

We gotta go inside first. We can't fall in love with the 3 too early. You got it. Brandon & Jeff should be able to have a FEAST at the foul line. pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease As for Roy, his offense may be off at the moment, but if nothing else, he will play important minutes tonight on the defensive end, frustrating the Cuse front line. The CONN-victs gave up WAY too many easy baskets to those lunchpails yesterday. Go get 'em Roy!

dude - i am not upset with Roy at all - he was a FORCE defensively in the paint yesterday - keep it up big fella!
McBricks - love the theory about BB saving it up for the tourney.
either way, its very simple...we are a better team - especially with an allegedly ailing mcnamara we should abuse them inside. lets go hoyas
