JTIII guys entirely. A highly-trumpeted recruiting class. 3 of our top 6 back, with 2 years under their belt. We will see whether we can truly make the jump to a program that consistently challenges for the Big East and national honors - or whether the experience of 0-5 and 2-4 finishes down the stretch, and mediocre finishes in the standings, becomes a trend that can't be shaken.

Agree. JTIII will have a deep bench to work with, although the alternatives at guard will be pretty much the same. I don't consider Cook a can't-substitute-his-talent player. As a matter of fact, I want to see Sapp, Egerson and Thornton play double-digit minutes next year.

This is the year we should all be worried about. Would you rather have the Hoyas throw up a stinker last night, or next week. I am as upset about the loss as the next guy, but is far from the devastating blow some have made it out to be. We are the Number 5 team in the Big East Tournament, and if we win our first round game we will play Marquette. If we had won last night we would have played the winner of Notre Dame - Marquette, so not much has really changed.
This team has played some great ball this season, and if ever there was a time to throw up a stinker in the month or March, it was last night. Let's get it back together against ND on Wednesday.
GO HOYAS - BEAT IRISH!!!

Of course I'm still focused on this year, I'll be screaming my brains out this week, next week, and hopefully after that. But a loss like Saturday's, at the end of an otherwise successful season, made me step backa second and think about where we want to be next year.

I want a piece of Marquette. ND won't be an easy game but III will have our guys ready.

I am focused on this year too and I believe there is a lot this team still can and will accomplish. But I was surprised that no one pointed out that next year will NOT be JT3 guys entirely. Jeff and Roy were already committed to GU before JT3 arrived. one might say they have flourished under JT3 and that they have virtually "become" JT3 guys, but they were not recruited by JT3.

Actually, it will be 08-09 when Thompson has four full classes of his own.

I actually meant guys who had only had JTIII as their coach - I also know that some of this year's frosh orally committed before III signed on, so we actually have 2 more years before we are "totally" JT players.

Next year will also be a bench mark for the program because we will have experience coming back for a 3rd year in the most important positions in the offense - the point guard and the point forward - those are the two keys to the offense - you can change the people who are running the cuts and going behind the screens pretty easily but those positions are key. In addition we will start to see some freak athletes on this team for the first time since I came to the Hilltop in 02-03.
