This embarrassment sure doesn't bode well for next week - we may never make it to 20 wins this year. There is nothing more embarrassing than being the only team someone beats.

Yes there is something more embarrassing--having a week to prepare for a game like this where the 0-15 team had to play UConn and you still get "worked". PATHETIC. Everyone from coaches to players should be embarrassed and realize this is total failure and a disgrace. Things like this happen to teams who are satisfied and not hungry and what we saw tonight is disgraceful and pathetic. To put it mildly, I highly doubt this team wins another game this year--and I don't want to hear about "Schoolwork/tests"---that is manure. You have a week to prepare and lose to that damn team? AWFUL. When you compound what was at stake--it's even more disgraceful and mark me down as being sick to my stomach and disappointed with anyone who was a part of the program tonight.

Tough to watch Duke-Carolina tonight and see the intensity and desire to win, and then compare it to our effort.

I wish I could disagree with you, RDF. This team has a lot of soul searching to do now in the next few days, and decide whether or not they want to really make something of their season or be satisfied with what they've already accomplished.

With this team, you just don't know which team is going to show up for a game... the bad GU or the good GU. Senior leadership sucks...

I don't know. We sucked playing USF last time, and after that we beat Duke and went on a winning streak. Hopefully this is a theme.

Have to agree with RDF here. I am not going to go so far as to say our season is a wash and it is over, but I think it was very important to try and lock up the bye in the BET. Now we have put ourselves in a position to play either ND or LVille who both are looking really good right now and I cant say im confident to win our first round game. At least with the bye if you lose in the 2nd round its an excusable loss and you still have a good tourney seed. I know people are saying there are sure we are in, but if we lose in the 1st round on wed, then we will be what 2-7 in our last game, having lost to 2 of the worst teams in conference back to back? It will not sit well with the tournament committee and even if we get in the tourney we will now have a much harder road and will have to play one of the top teams early on. I cant express my disappointment right now. I simply do not understand how it is possible that this team comes out and looks so utterly horrible with so much at stake. It is a replay of last year and just makes us one of the middle of the road teams rather then going into the tourney off a 20 win season and ranked...absolutely the worst game in team history I would say.

To me, losing the BET bye is much less important than the large black mark this places on our NCAA tournament resume. This game is a seed killer.

we may have dropped to a 7 or 8 seed after tonight's result---but I believe with each win in MY at the BET, we move up one seed.

Boys--we might not make the NCAA tournament if we lose badly in NY--I hate to bring this up but they are going to look at how you are playing and who you lost to--who was scheduled and we had a very favorable Big East schedule--only savior for GU could be that head to head they hammered Syracuse and Cincinnati but to be honest--if this team didn't make NCAA's it would be fitting end for Bowman's career-you don't lay it on line for an entire season/entire game--you get what you deserve.
Let's put it this way--if I were GU players and Staff, I'd view Big East Tournament as a BETTER WIN on WEDNESDAY or you are going to NIT Again. If they don't think that is possible--they are kidding themselves.
I'm not convinced about this team being a lock and tonight just made me puke--III's worst loss, a total friggin DISGRACE and he, Staff, and players should be ashamed and if they play anywhere remotely like this in NYC--they'll lose by 25 pts or more.
Wake the BLEEP UP and start playing like Georgetown basketball teams should--with HEART, PASSION, and EFFORT--not this passive approach which guys decide to bring all three phases on a 4/5 game basis.
III's failures down stretch of last two Big East seasons are not a trend I want to see become his "signature". If that's case--he better come up with a new approach because this one stinks.

While I still feel we have a good shot, I do see a point in RDFs post. I dont see, how next to a lot of other teams with big wins this week, we are necessarily a lock for the NCAAs. I realize it seemed like a forgone conclusion this past week because there was no talk of being on the bubble etc, but after so many recent upsets, I am honestly worried. This team has played terribly down the stretch and with a loss in the 1st round of the Big East Tourney, I am extremely nervous now about missing out possibly. 2-7 to finish off the season would be horrible and the 20 win threshold I think is a big one. Man, I cannot believe this..it is like De Ja Vu from last year again. And could we have gotten a worse draw now then either Louisville or ND??? Louisville looked great against UCONN today and ND was solid against Depaul and Im sure their eyes lit up tonight when they saw who they are facing. H SH*TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT, WHY THE HELL DOES OUR TEAM HAVE TO CHOKE GODDAMITT. WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS GAME ALL DAMN WEEK, COME TO PLAY YOU MORONS!!!!

The implications of this game are that unless we can get to the semis of the BET we are an 8 or 9 seed.

In no way could tonight's game be remotely construed as a good thing, but I now believe wholeheartedly that GU will win ugly in the first round then get revenge on Marquette before tiring and losing to a much deeper UCon team. ND and Louisville scare me plenty, but no way the Hoyas are not ready for them this time.

Back off everybody! We've had a really good season. Overall we won a couple of games we weren't supposed to win and we lost a couple we weren't supposed to lose. Why do we have to always see the "sky is falling" every time we lose one of these we're supposed to win? Step back and look at the entire season which, I might add, took place when our coach had some pretty steep personal issues in front of him at all times. We lost. Now let's move on.

RDF is dead-on accurate. The worst case scenario was we lose to USF and in the first round. We lose Wednesday, we are sweating it out on Selection Sunday. Thank God Wisconsin lost to ND St. and we beat Duke. Otherwise, this is not even a conversation.
As for the season, it will be a disappointment. We missed the NCAA's by one game last year and there is a very REAL possibility that could happen again. Six weeks ago we're trying to figure out if we're a one or two seed in the Big East and Doyel has us as a 3 or 4. Now, I'd be content with a ten seed and ecstatic with a 11 or 12. That's why the disappointment.

Not to quibble, but - if you win a couple of games you're not supposed to, and lose a couple you're not to supposed to - doesn't that just put you exactly where you were expected to be? How does that = "a really good season" ?

Losing the BE tournament bye likely means you can't win the BE Tourney. 4 games in 4 days is tough bordering on impossible, especially when game 1 does not provide a breather.

Losing to 0-15 USF means we were delusional to think we could get past the semis.
