It just looks like playing every minute of every game is killing his mechanics right now.
I'm surprised he's gone this long before hitting a wall.

And that just reflects stupidity on Coach K's part. Redick plays like 37 minutes a game, and K leaves him in late in every game, including all of their blowouts. Did he really need to be in the Texas game with 3 minutes left and a 35 point lead? I guess so, if you feel like you need to win by 40....

Can't win that scoring title playing 25 minutes in a blowout!

Coack K loves the idea of personal achievements under his wing. He sees JJ as the potential top scorer in NCAA history and would love to use it for recruiting (i.e., look what JJ did under me) the best scorers. It's like coming to GU if you want to be a center in the NBA, now Duke is going to be the place to go if you are a scorer like JJ.
I could work against K by keeping other excellent players from going to Duke because they know who the star is going to be.

This has been his M.O. since he's been in college...
He disappears late in the season.
Don't know if this year will be the same, but I certainly don't think Duke is the World-Beaters that Dickie-V and ESPN would have us to believe.
Duke has always been vulnerable to teams with good, quick guards. The more teams like Florida State they play, the more you'll see them being exposed.

playing an extra 5-6 minutes a game twice a week than other top players does nothing to a player who is in as good shape as Redick...if anything, Redick has been starting games cold and then heating up as the game goes on.

the thing I didn't understand was Coach K sending his best players to the locker room with 1.7 to go with FSU at the line up by 3. if they had missed the FTs, they could have gotten the reb, quick outlet....maybe the chance was 30-1 that it would work but you still gotta try. were there threats to the players or is FSU such a lowbrow school where they figured that one of those kids might hurt them.

JJ had nightmares for weeks after Georgetown stormed the court. Coach K couldn't let that happen again.

Yeah, that's just odd, especially when you consider how they beat Virginia Tech. If you can win on a near half court shot, you can definately force OT on one as well.

I didn't think it was that big of a deal, Coach K was playing the odds, and the odds were that they weren't going to win. If Duke ended up miraculously tying the game up to send it into OT, Coach K would've just brought the players back out from the locker room. It seems as if it was just a safety thing. Both Redick and Morrison seem to be faltering a little down the stretch, it'll be interesting to see how both fare in the final few games and then the Tournament.

I'll disagree (Circle takes a square!): 5-6 minutes x 27 games = 135-162 minutes = 3-4 more games. That's 3-4 more games of jumping and running and everything else. It's bound to add up.... But hey, when they get bounced in the Sweet 16, and K is crying on the podium, JJ will still be the all-time leading scorer in the ACC...

Perhaps K rests him during the conference tourney. Duke can still win the ACC postseason with JJ only playing 20 mins/game, and if the Blue Devils should lose it opens up the possibility of another ACC team getting in, which I'm sure K would like to see.
