Sorry to interrupt the thoughtful discussions on charlie daniels and ballroom dancing but i have a serious problem that i need help with. Next week i am looking forward to a well deserved vacation in the canadian rockies which i anticipated would be further enhanced by relaxing (well maybe not) evenings wathcing the BET. Unfortunately, i have just now realized that I will in fact be in CANADA. What i need to know from any of the world travellers out there is whether this is akin to going to mars or something. will i be forced to watch endless hours of lumberjack games and curling or do they get any american tv on their cable networks up there. This problem is further worsened by the 2 hour 24 episode next week that i am also in danger of missing. So i implore you my hoya colleagues. Tell me is there hope or do i need to find a very good friend somewhere to let me bogart their slingbox signal or something? I'm desparate, please.

Where in the Rockies are you going? Banff is enough of a tourist spot where I think you'll have no trouble finding an ESPN signal.

You could always call your hotel and ask whether they carry ESPN. Where are you staying?

Yep, but a long time ago (i.e. 10 years or more). To be honest, I don't remember much about it or even enough to make recommendations.

Make sure you stop at Lake Louise. We got a hotel about 2-3 miles from the lake and had a great time two years ago. The hike up to the teahouse above Lake Louise is great. Oh, but you have to save that for the summer time.
A lot of Canadian cities get the American border stations. When I lived in Toronto, we would get the Buffalo stations. So you might get a Coeur d'Alene station or two in Banff. However, I don't remember seeing too much TV, while in Banff.
