Kudos to Kimberley Martin and the Daily Orange for the Hibbert article. Not often we see another school's paper do such a involved profile of another team's player - let alone an archrival. I haven't checked, but I somewhat doubt that Eric Devendorf gets a 1000 word treatment in the Hoya today.

True, but Georgetown also does not have an enormous journalism/communications program like Cuse, and Bailey Heaps once again delivers an excellent preview of the action today. Sorry for the commentary.

...and Bailey Heaps once again delivers an excellent preview of the action today. Probably be more excellent if Bailey Heaps gave props to AKD when he spoke of Senior Day ! Billed Senior Day, the game against Syracuse marks the last time seniors Brandon Bowman, Ashanti Cook, Owens, and Ryan Beal will play a home game in Hoya blue and gray.

This was supposed to be in the Hoya, but they didn't have space for it b/c they were running a viewpoint on DC baseball instead. hoyablue.tripod.com/id14.html[edited to fully reflect the sarcasm in my statement]

And what the hell is the HOYA doing running a story on DC baseball in lieu of a piece on our upcoming battle with our #1 rivals? Whe the heck is running that rag? They should be disowned.... they should not be allowed to put HOYA on top of their publication! GO HOYAS!!! -- the REAL HOYAS!!!

Let The Hoya know what should be published! 300 words to opinion@thehoya.edu ! I hope multiple alumni take the 15 minutes to let The Hoya know what's up. It is disgracefull. Also they talk about GW-GU nonexistent rivalry in the same issue!?! I would send in one, but they have already printed one of my letters recently.

Hoyas' seniors finally top SyracuseBy Barker Davis THE WASHINGTON TIMES washingtontimes.com/sports/20060226-125731-9425r.htm"Offensively, they cut apart the Syracuse's vaunted 2-3 zone, attacking it in textbook fashion from the high post, where sophomore forward Jeff Green (18 points, seven rebounds, four assists) turned in another outstanding performance as the triggerman in Thompson's Princeton offense. Time and again, either Green, center Roy Hibbert (seven points, eight rebounds) or senior forward Brandon Bowman (six points, four assists)would flash to the high post, collect an entry pass in the soft spot of the zone and then either shoot, drive or distribute to a cutting teammate or open wing man. And defensively, the Hoyas were equally impressive. Georgetown locked down on Syracuse gunners Gerry McNamara (eight points) and Eric Devendorf (13 points), holding the pair to just 8-for-25 shooting. And after clawing out to a 33-30 lead at halftime, the Hoyas held the Orange to just 23 points in a second half that was basically a methodical Georgetown run. It was the most anemic second-half output for the Orange all season, and the Hoyas took charge behind Green shortly after senior guard Ashanti Cook took a nasty spill biting on a McNamara fake with 16:55 left in the second half."

Hoyas Report By Barker Davis www.washingtontimes.com/sports/20060226-125726-6389r.htm" Senior guard Ashanti Cook, who landed on his tailbone after vaulting over Syracuse gunner Gerry McNamara with 16:55 left in the second half, returned to the game with a noticeable limp down the stretch. After the game, however, Cook claimed he was "fine" and explained the injury was just a bruise."
