Borderline inappropriate. Would be great if they could keep him there, but that seems unlikely.
Great article though for GW and DC hoops. I have high hopes for the G'town portion.

And then maybe they'll do a followup on the smaller programs in the area... GMU & UMCP.

State Kindergarten at College Park is not getting a spot in this article. I love it.

"He's too kind to proclaim any outright superiority over other District powers, for either himself or his Colonials. 'If you're a stat guy, you can look at the records, the rankings and what we've accomplished this year,' he says. 'But I can't say we're the best team in the area, because we haven't beaten Georgetown. We haven't faced them. But hey, hopefully we'll see them in the tournament, and then you can ask me.'"
- He didn't finish this thought. What he meant to say is that, "We haven't faced them or any other top 25 competition, outside of NC State who cleaned our clock."

I liked the article, I'm always a sucker for the "personality" pieces with a bunch of vignettes like that. Cause, you know, who knew that TBird41 was related to so many car salesmen.
Be interesting to see the article tomorrow. Now that I see the author's face he's definitely the guy I saw walking around at MCI the game before last. The only bad part is he saw two really bad clunker games--GU-St. John's and GW-Dayton.
And I've actually met/briefly talked to the Colonial Army President guy once or twice before. If you can imagine the GW version of 007--in personality not in looks, that's pretty scary still I know--that's about what he seemed like.

Luke Winn followed Hoya Blue and the student section during the game and interviewed 007 for a while before the game. Should be interesting to read the article.

He also spent some time with Jeff Green's Mom.
I'm excited to hear her thoughts on being the student section's favorite

I thought it was pretty solid, but the one thing it didn't do was really capture the fervor that has reinvigorated the program. I think that's the biggest theme at Georgetown this season. Remember how down we were? My friend and I came up with a georgetown drinking game, essentially drinking everytime GU did something bad. The one and only time we tried it, v. PC in 2003-04, we finished a 12 pack by halftime.
But now, heck, we beat Duke. As cool as Jeff Green's mom is and as unique the ride to our home court is, that really isn't the driving theme behind the current state of GU hoops. As a strictly observational piece, it's pretty good and you can't complain. But if his intent was to get to the heart of hoya hoops, I think he missed the point a little bit.
All in all, thrilled for the national pub!
