Wow, I knew that Marquette got a huge break with the crowd at the RAC yesterday because of the storm, but I didn't realize GARY WATERS WASN'T EVEN THERE to coach the Scarlet Knights.
Talk about a bad loss. Douby looks like he was unreal. Crean's earlier MU teams were known for some solid defense. I'm not sure this team has it. Novak certainly is not a good defender. I could see him having real problems guarding BB, JG, or Hibbert, whomever they choose to put him on. Its quite possible that the effort he'll need to expend there will affect his offensive game.

I think that making Novak work on D would be an excellent gameplan. That and getting in his face when he is on O, even if he is 30ft from the basket. He looked very comfortable against UCONN. He's got a pretty nice game, but if you put a cheesy mustache on him, he's still no morrison.

i'm very nervous about this game. a loss against this team and then the hoyas have to go to that hornet's nest at 'nova.
sure novak is tough. i'm nervous about james. he can penetrate, and the hoyas seem to have difficulty against quick guards.
i want to see how this team is going to respond to that loss. not an easy game by any means.
btw - fantastic win for 'nova. man do they play hard.

i'm very nervous about this game. a loss against this team and then the hoyas have to go to that hornet's nest at 'nova. Because if we win we don't have to play nova ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) . Its time to see if this team can really bounce back after a loss. So far; after vandy, crush oregon(too bad they are looking horrible) after illini, crushed fairfield(not saying much), after wv#1,lost to uconn(good game though), after uconn, bairly beat south florida. Nothing really impressive in that lot so it'd be nice to go and get a solid road win in a hostile environment. Not that I wouldnt mind if we didn't have to play nova if we win ;D.

"Novak is nice, Pittsnoogle has proved he can do it night in, night out, in big games and small."
Really? How about the goose egg Pittsnogle threw up against Pitt the other night? Novak has had a few off nights as well this year, but 2 of them were due to a severely sprained ankle.
"plus, he does have the world's greatest name."
Can't argue with you there.
"MU is a very tough place to play and a win there will help out loads come march."
Agree with this as well. It will be a good one, fellas. Strap it on because the Bradley Center will be rocking.

Thursday's game will be a good test of our OOC schedule. We should be well prepared to deal with a tough away environment.
Someone correct me, but doesn't Marquette play a similar style of defense as WV did in the 2nd half last Sunday? Our backdoor cuts work very well against tight man-to-man defense, but a soft man-to-man closes those cuts and dares us to shoot the 3. Now we're back to living and dying by the three, which isn't bad if we are executing.
Also, best name in the college basketball right now is Jihad Muhammad.

Has El Noglo ever put 41 and 16 on the #1 team in the nation? Nope and he had that goose egg against Pitt too.

whatev, i like pittsnoogle you like novak.
i'll take a road dog son of a miner tatted up to the max on my team any day.
anywho, down to the important stuff, what will it take to win at MU? I dont think we have to play perfect, but we will have to be careful with the rock.

Watching the WVU-GU game, I kept thinking to myself that Pittsnogle would be an average player outside of Beilein's system. Kevin will make it to the NBA, but he'll be exactly like Danny Ferry in the league. He's useless in the post on both ends of the court. There are multiple reasons Pittsnogle is and should be a crowd/media favorite, but incredible talent is not one of them.

This is the chance to bounce back and finish off the season with a nice winning streak. If we can manage to take the next two on the road, that will be unbelievable. But one game at a time, so we have to regroup and beat Marquette.
GO HOYAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beat the Alchemists!!!!!!!!!!

secondly, in their native tongue, I am sure that Aw, Boumtje, and Mutombo are like Smith, Jones, and Thomas. While Pittsnoogle is bizarre in any language aside from those that children make up for their imaginary friends. Maybe, except that Dikembe's name would would be like David Matthew Paul George John Jack Wamatthew

Unfortunately it seems they changed the ending. it now reads: Go Hoyas. 9 pm tonight vs Marquette. Be there.
obviously the original is much better. another hoya comment earlier on:
Chris Cillizza: Ever since my prediction that the Georgetown Hoyas would win the NCAA tournament in 1996, I have tried to stay away from the fortune telling racket.

Marquette is VERY good. Dominic James is ridiculous. He gave our guards fits. If Novak gets hot it could be a long night for you guys.
That being said, you are coming off an L so I think you'll be more than ready for this game.
Good luck - and see you on Sunday.
