Can we please stop acting as if Lunardi knows anything about the quality of teams? All he's paid to do is promote the A-10 and St. Joe's and tell people what is incredibly obvious -- that if you have a good RPI, you're in the tourney.
Lunardi knows nothing.
Although I do have agree about the lack of respect thing.
(And WG-Gtown would likely be a good game).

He also says we scored 89 points versus Duke. Definitely a numbers guy, that Lunardi.

he knows absolutely nothing. Nothing. He will be the very last one on the bandwagon, but by then it will be so full that he'll have no place to stand and nothing to grab onto, so he'll fall underneath and get run over by the wheels, leaving him crushed and broken in the middle of the road.

Let the record show that this was my question and Lunardi actually answered it...
Eric (Chicago, IL): Hey Joe, If Gtown and GW played today on a neutral court, who wins? Also, are these 2 DC teams, right now, a better pair of teams than NC's top 2 teams (Duke and UNC)?
Joe Lunardi: (3:14 PM ET ) A lot of people would like to see that game, that's for sure. I'd give a slight edge to GW's depth and athleticism, but it's very slight. As for the other question, I'm not biting. Loss at Georgetown notwithstanding, Duke would clearly take a best-of-seven series against all three (including Carolina).
Also in the weekly report card, here what it said: Georgetown coach John Thompson III deserves a lot of credit for the Hoyas' 61-58 comeback victory over Pittsburgh on Sunday.
The Hoyas struggled in the first half, falling behind by 15. Pittsburgh center Aaron Gray was the primary culprit -- he scored 15 points in the first half. So in the second half Thompson switched to a matchup zone on defense; on offense, he used 6-9 forward Jeff Green up top at the point, to draw Gray away from the basket. The moves worked -- Gray went scoreless in the second half, and Georgetown stormed back and scored a big victory.

Lundardi is slowly climbing up my $#!+ list. Simply because 8 teams are in doesn't mean they're seeded correctly. Based on what we've accomplished, I don't know how a reasonable person can keep us out of the top 4 seeds.

Wow, he's so totally awesome at reading and then regurgitating what every single game recap, studio show, and Hoyatalk post said about that game. Neat-o!!

Shoild I officially refer to the team as WG now? Yes you shoild (sorry, couldn't resist). WG clearly stands for Weenie Group, a perfect moniker for that league this year.

Why do we keep pondering what Lunardi says?

Hahaha – yes Lunardi and GW are tight - right..... 1)GW fans hate Lunardi – he has received many hate e-mails from our fan base 2)Lunardi hates GW and has been ripping us all season and been extremely harsh on us 3)He has nothing to do with the A10 – only St. Joes 4)His record at predicting the seeding is actually pretty good – but I still hate him.

So, Pops...what did you think about the GW fans at the SJU game last night? Well, if there are GW fans at the game just to watch some good college bball and are not doing anything - more power to them. As for those in GW gear and - then those people are tools and your students had the right...no, the duty, to beat the sh*t out of them and leave them for dead behind the MCI center. If you send me there pictures I will hunt them down and take them out one by one - like in Munich. If you remove the tools from your school I will do the same here.

That presumes there are tools who root for Georgetown hoops. Outside of 'Bridge, I can't think of any. And why type sh-t the first time but edit yourself the second time? C'mon, pops! Bring it strong, or not at all.

Shoild I officially refer to the team as WG now? I plan to. Not because I dislike the school or the basketball team (though the inferiority complex is getting a tad old, folks, now that they've decided to assault all media outlets and message boards). But because honestly, that's simply one of the single funniest things I've heard in a long time. Those folks obviously came to our game to make a point, and the point she ended up making was, "I'm a moron."
