I am in the same boat, although I suspected I was not going to get tickets and called a couple weeks ago to confirm my order. At that point I was told there was I high demand, so I even told them if they could not handle my order of 4, I would take 2. Today, the call comes- nada. I know the allocation is very small and I know I am not the top man on the list, but I actually gave a fair amount to the hoop club this year and I placed my order in early December. There needs to be some transparency in how these tickets are allocated. This is only my latest complaint in a litany of ticket issues this year.

This is the first time i have ordered tickets. I guess I was naive, but it was because I was afraid of this very scenario that I specifically asked back in October when I ordered the tickets whether this meant I would actually get the tickets. Yep you're all set was the response. It really burns me to be misled in this way. Beyond that, a little more advance notice would be thoughtful. God, I'm so effing Editeded right now.

Add me to that list!
It was great to have to explain to my two sons tonight to whom I'd given a ticket each at Christmas that we were out.
I guess I knew the bandwagon would get crowded quickly but this really leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
My supposition is that they held all the ticket requests and then recently parcelled out the tickets to the better friend$$$ of the program.
Perhaps that's the way to handle the BET, but I would suggest that single away games out to be first come, first served.

First-come, first-served would be great. Allocating based on Hoop Club makes some sense. Even a random lottery done after a certain deadline to ask for tickets would be ok. Just have a policy, let everyone know what it is, and stick with it. It definitely seemed too easy when I called to ask for tickets back whenever it was (someone else posted that they had just ordered tix, so I called that day- probably Massholya). I thought I just got lucky calling before anyone else thought to do so. Turns out, they did not have a clue.

That stinks Ryan. I guess there was no point to getting our requests in so early. Agree on the sour taste. Just seems so typical of the way most things are handled at GU and emblematic of how GU always finds a way to alienate alumni. And yet they always wonder why the alumni giving is so much smaller than that for similar schools.
PS everyone take a quick look outside your windows to make sure the world didn't just end.... Kelly Clarkson just won a grammy.

Even getting a partial season plan was like pulling teeth. It shouldn't be that hard to get tickets or at least get a firm (and correct) answer to your questions. GU could turn this around if they took some time to address the issue. There should be a clear policy in place and a representative available who can clearly articulate it to you. And your status shouldn't change just because you're out of sight and off the phone line.

I got the phone call today as well. Hey, it is an improvement. They never even had the courtesy to call me when they "ran out" of UConn tickets.
I know this is a tough venue, but I still find it extremely disheartening to see that so many fans are left out in the cold.
Sadly, I have to agree. This is pretty typical.

Add one more to the list. I was never promised tickets, but was told it would be "no problem" with my hoop club status. Very frustrating.
Let's hope we don't have this problem for the BET.

Thanks, Massholya. One hopes that as Jack suggests a clearly articulated policy might eventuually come out of this. I think a number of us would advocate that.
IversonCtHoya, I was told today that the Hoop Club was no longer even accepting BET ticket requests. My thought, given my fresh disappointment, would be to get an official on the phone and inquire explicitly about your ticket request. I would leave nothing to chance or an assumption that our shared Georgetown identity will produce a favorable outcome.

Same thing happened to me. Since I'm still a student I gave the minimum level, so I had a bad feeling the whole time. BUT, when I ordered in what must have been November or December they inferred that I had the tickets. When I called last week, they sang a different song. I understand that they need to take care of their biggest donors, but it didn't seem right how it worked. The thing that really screwed us, if you can think of it that way, is our team's success. As our team got better, the game became bigger and bigger, and some of the bigwigs probably all of a sudden wanted to go. Not that I'm complaining about our success, just something to think about when they take orders for about 4 months and only stop about a week before the game.

Wow, I feel bad for you guys. That's definitely a bad way to handle the situation. Makes me slightly more nervous b/c I just found out about a week ago that I had a free airline ticket coming my way. So I've been making plans to go to the season finale game vs. South Florida down in Tampa--just made the plane reservation yesterday. And in the next couple days I'll be calling down to McDonough to try and get tickets for me and looks like right now at least 2 other members of the family.
Ain't the same situation I know--Nova's a BIG demand game with a TINY allottment. And it's not like USF is selling out their games at the Sun Dome, so Ticketmaster is a viable backup. But I'd like to be in the Georgetown-allotted section for obvious reasons. And you never know how many HHC folks are interested in spending a weekend in sunny Florida in March--first meeting I ever went to they brought that up actually. I'm a pretty darn low-level donor too, matter of fact you might say the lowest possible level donor. I'd just be afraid of not getting a notice either way until a week prior, then having to scramble at the last minute.
But yeah, the priority system and the late notice stuff, some of the reasons I chose to use the plane ticket for the "sure thing" USF game and not gamble it on a favorable NCAA 1st Round site during my Spring Break. Cause I have no illusion me and my small donation are even sniffing tourney tickets through GU at this point.

Just have a policy, let everyone know what it is, and stick with it. That's the key. I have no problem with them allocating tickets based on HHC donation levels (and they explicitly told me that is how they do it when I called to inquire about my Cuse order), but they need to come up with a better system. If I recall ticket orders for Syracuse were due in late December. If that deadline was real, how is it that I have not heard anything from them -- (1) that my order was received, (2) that I will have tickets, (3) where the tickets will be? They need to get organized. I recall that some HHC members noted in the fall that they received calls from the HHC thanking them for their donation. After making a donation this year quite a bit larger than years past (understanding it is all relative), I not only never heard anything in in any form, but 6 weeks later I had to call the office to ask them to include me on the email distribution list. Like many have noted - they need to get organized.

The only thing I can think of is that sometimes they do not get the final allocation of away game tickets until pretty late. Don't know if that was the case here, but they could do better in letting people know where they stand earlier.

Villanova could have pulled a screw-job on us here. They're required to give a certain number of tickets (not sure what that number is, but I think it's like 150). Anything beyond that is discretionary on theor part. Earlier in the year, they might have said we could have more, only to give us the old switcheroo. Either way, it is lousy to think that you have tickets, and then not. I think the ticket office is much better than it has been in the past, but still has some work to do....

when we are on the road, you are at the mercy of the home team's ticket office. League rules mandate only 100 to 150 tix to the away team. So when demand is high, unless your name is on the letterhead for Hoyas Unlimited or Hoop Club, you might have problems.
