Couple quick thoughts:
1) WG just doesn't work: Waitlisted at Georgetown isn't as catchy as Georgetown Waitlist
2) Not to rehash too many threads, but this might be one of the biggest one-sided rivalries in the nation
3) Talked to a couple of GW alums who were actually embarrased by the members of the Colonial Army going to the game last night cheering for SJU (what a cry for attention). Would be surprised if they sent a petition letter to the other "W" in DC for a presidential order for the Hoyas to play Waitlist U.
4) Reiterate that there is no reason to play them whatsoever. It's better for DC and the nation to develop a GU/UVA or GU/UMCP rivalry. Personally I vote for the GU/UVA one, but I'm biased having grown up in Virginia and being extremely nostalgic of the Hester 3-pointer that went in as Esh was screaming for him not to shoot in the triple OT NIT game back in 2000.
5) While BB was 7-9, some of those looked he was playing horse - I think Barker was a little kind on BB's shot selection. But they went in, so I can't complain. For some reason everytime he touches the ball I feel like there is circus music in the background. Last night he made some incredible acrobatic moves that showed what a great player he is/will be at the next level.
6) Major props to the students and the rest of the crowd at the game, nice to see that attendence level above 9,000.

That's always been my stance. The local team I would most like to play on an annual basis is Virginia. I enjoyed the two year home and home the Hoyas had with the Cavs a few years ago even though Gtown lost both games.

Would love to see UVA more. How about the great Ewing v. Sampson match back when UVA was #1? What a game.
Not enough hate there, though, for a truly sick rivalry - like MD would be . I always felt like UVA and Georgetown respect one another.

Back to the St. Johns discussion (forget about GW/WG). There were two things that most impressed me last night. The first was Roy, making some really good strong moves to the basket and battling, yes battling for rebounds. The second was the intensity of our defense. It seemed like every time a Johnnie got the ball, several pairs of hands started grabbing for the ball. And, Jon's hands seemed to be the most active. The sky's the limit for this team.

But in no way could a rivalry with UVA be considered a "local" rivalry. Charlottesville is local to nothing. ;D But eff playing GW. I'm so sick of hearing about their ty team and hearing all their masturbatory comments. Damn it!

Sorry if this has been said already, but the guys have been doing a great job of taking care of the ball these past few games.
Last night, we had only 5 turnovers in the 30 minutes that the starters played. (10 total) Pitt - 8 TO Depaul - 9 TO Cincy - 7 TO
that is pretty darn efficient.

And their leading scorer last night had 7 points? wow.
talk about one half of the box score that looks straight out of a grade school game... yikes.

One other note about the SJU game that I haven't seen anyone else mention (sorry if I missed it)- I believe that win guaranteed us a winning record in the Big East. While I don't see this as any sort of risk right now, it is nice to know that if the unthinkable happens from here on out, we still have a winning Big East record. I always carry very cautious optimism......even though this team is making that hard to do......so that is the only reason I mention it. If there are others out there like me who, despite the incredible success and the way this team is playing, still have a little cautiousness left......this should make you feel better too!!! Another great game guys.......take care of business with WVU!!!!!!! Actually we are now 8-2 in the Big East with 6 games left so we could theoretically finish with a .500 record in the Big East. Despite the end of last year, losing the next 6 just doesn't feel to be within the realm of possibility. Yup- I missed the Rutgers game on our upcoming schedule. This is not a real big deal, as I really don't think it will come into play- just a nice milestone to throw out there (even if I did it 1 game early)!!!
