"Georgetown coach John Thompson III said he has no problem playing GW and Maryland but doesn't want to schedule coaching friends at Princeton, Air Force and Northwestern. GW hasn't played G'Town since 1982. The Hoyas need another home game after Albany dropped them."

ALBANY dropped US? Not the other way around?
This is worse than "NEWMAN broke up with YOU?"
Replacing them with anyone would improve the RPI, though....

Why not try to schedule a game against Coppin State?
I'm sure they wouldn't mind the 1 hour drive...

Looks like both Navy and AU have full schedules, at 27 games each. But I like your thinking... It will be tough to get anyone decent added to the schedule at this point, I have to think.

It would be nice to see the Hoyas stop scheduling the lower-echelon of the MEAC and put someone on the schedule that will help them in ways other than giving them a Division I win... At least put Hampton or Coppin on the schedule...instead of beating up on Howard, Morgan and Norfolk... Do y'all play anyone from the MEAC in football?

Originally, Albany was looking for 2 guarantee games. They were committed to Villanova, and we were the second. A couple of pre-season magazines have us listed as playing Albany on Dec. 11. When the Albany sched was finalized, they opted to play Syracuse instead (part of Jimmy B's New York State Invitational scheduling) in the Dome. The Syracuse women are actually playing Albany in Albany, which may have been part of the deal.
My guess is that Albany gets more $ playing the Cuse than GU--Syracuse probably pays a higher guarantee and the expenses are cheaper (RT bus trip, no overnight v. RT airfare, hotel bills)
