Has anyone else noticed how four of the current eight bottom teams are the C-USA additions?
I know that Louisville lost some key guys but everyone picked them to be in the top four. Cincy has lost their coach and some key players. USF was expected to be at or near the bottom. Depaul figured to be middle of the pack and the only team that has surprised in my opinion is Marquette at 5-3.
I know it is a long season and we are barely half way through, but I think this validates how tough games are week in and out in the Big East. With the improvement of St. John's coupled with the normal tough road games at schools like Rutgers, the Big East is extremely tough top to bottom and the close losses by USF show that the bottom half of this conference is only a player or a couple of big plays away from being at the top. I am loving this season and how strong most Big East teams are playing in OOC games.

the 'ville has been a total bust, but dean's injury problems have hurt. cincy losing kirkland was the biggest blow anyone in the conference has taken this season. i think even bigger than the loss of sumpter, as 'nova has plenty of talent to mask his absence. i would agree with your assessment that we have surprised, but with Pitt, @nova, GTown, @'Ville, and the dreaded @the RAC left, MU has plenty to prove.
