I know this is very old news, but some things are just too good to pass up.
I was glancing at an old Sports Illustrated, and came across a short article on Miami's move to the ACC. The article stated that Donna Shalala (Miami's prez.) had hoped to preserve ties with BC and Syracuse, "schools known for holding athletes to relatively high academic standards."
Really? Syracuse? The school that permitted Carmelo Anthony to drop in for a quick visit and attend, what, one class after the first of the year? Perhaps that WOULD be a high standard at Miami.
You can't make up stuff this choice.

If that is a quote, then file Ms. Shalala's comment under inadvertent humor...
"relatively high academic standards."
Ha ha ha ha! ;D
