Looking over the schedules of Big East and ACC teams, I noticed that there have only been eight games between the conferences this year, and the leagues have split them, 4-4. I guess the debate over which conference is better will have to be settled in March.
Big East Wins: Georgetown over Duke Seton Hall over NC State Louisville over Miami DePaul over Wake Forest
ACC Wins: Duke over Seton Hall Duke over St. John's NC State over Notre Dame Virginia Tech over St. John's

Your thinking here is a little flawed...look at the teams involved in these games.
From the ACC side 3 of their 4 wins are by the top 2 teams in the ACC (Duke and NC St) over bottom tier Big East teams
On the flip side, none of the Big East wins are by any of the top 3 teams in the league and they have beaten the top 2 ACC teams
In that respect the Big East wins have been more impressive than the ACC

True it's 4-4, but the Big East has beaten the ACC's 2 best teams (NC State and Duke) wheras the ACC has beaten only Seton Hall, SJU, and ND, all of whom are currently and most likely will finish in the bottom 6 schools in the BE.

Well, the numbers are the same, but the ACC wins are over the lower tier teams of the BE. Whereas the BE wins are over the top tier teams in the ACC.

Although I think the fact that 5 of the 8 games were played by Duke or NC State (#1 and #2 in the ACC), while none of the games involved what would be considered the top 4 teams in the Big East says something for our depth/strength....
Bring back the BE/ACC challenge!!

BE is better. Wins over the Hall and SJU do not mean that much in scheme of things.

Growing up a fan of an ACC school, I always liked the ACC-Big East Challenge alot more than the ACC-Big 10 one we're stuck with now.

Hahahaha, Georgetown vs. Maryland in the first round (with the added bonus of the 2001 Sweet 16 rematch) and the winner playing Florida? And you KNOW with the pod system that those games would be in Jacksonville in my home state...it's like I made that one up myself! (Hey, GW's in that bracket too!). Whatever, I think Seton Hall's win last night says a lot more about the conference than Duke beating the Pirates in the Preseason NIT--although I am continually shocked at the number of overrated ACC teams holding onto rankings.

Yeah how great is that bracket geting to play maryland and the possibility of playign GW in the sweet 16. Also a possibliity of playing BC although a slim one and a much more likely a rematch with UConn. Hot damn i'd love that bracket. I think we could totally beat FLorida and get to play GW assuming they can get past Michigan state.

If we play and beat Maryland in the tourney (knock on wood for 007 and other jinx fanatics) I think we should do just what Maryland does after a big win against Duke.
Burn UMDCP down to the ground.

Big East vs. ACC is not even a debate at this point.

Big East vs. ACC is not even a debate at this point. Not that I said it was this year..... I was referring to the organized games every year known as the Big Ten-ACC Challenge.... the original version of it was Big East-ACC. Clemson played Providence once in it but I think Barnes was still coaching the Friars at the time.

Oh, I know TH. I wasn't referring to the challenge. There just seemed to be some people trying to analyze which conference had the more impressive H2H wins. I was just merely trying to point out there was no need to even do that.

ACC is not BE's competition for best conference. We need Big East-Big Ten challenge. I'd like to see us matched up against Iowa or Wisconsin next year, home or away.
