Through 17 games, 6 players average more than 15 minutes ranging from 21 to 30 minutes per game. None of these players average more than 11.7 or fewer than 9.1 points per game.
Interestingly, the same basic trend appears with assists and rebounds- pretty even performance without much disparity between the 6.
What we have is a TEAM. There is no MVP, and one may not (and is not needed) to emerge. There are 6 critical players each of whom may show up and lead the team on any given night. Against Duke, Brandon and Jeff led the charge. Against Notre Dame, it was Roy and Owens.
Throughout the games I have watched, each player has made contributions critical to the outcome even more so than is usual with a basketball team. Anyone of those 6 players can make the difference making play in the game.
If this team continues to build its confidence over the coming weeks, it could be a very special year. We are becoming a tough TEAM to overcome.
