Just got this in my inbox. Thought that I'd share it with you all.
Dear Hoyas,
Saturday's game against Duke was special. The environment, the atmosphere - and the outcome - brought back memories of Georgetown Basketball circa the early 80's.
Our fans, especially the student body, were incredible. As I've told you before, we feed off your energy and enthusiasm. You make a difference and for that the entire team thanks you.
We have six home games left starting this Saturday against Cincinnati. As we head into the heart of our BIG EAST schedule we need you more than ever. Duke was just the start; please continue to come out to the MCI Center and duplicate the environment of last Saturday. Wear your blue and gray, and bring the noise!
Thank you.
John Thompson III Head Men's Basketball Coach
We are.....Georgetown!

III is always the best spokesman for the program. As he shows once again!
I rescheduled my house closing again for the game!

This is the kinda stuff I love to see! Acknowledging the students and giving them the recognition they've earned can go a long way. While it may be difficult to create a special atmosphere at the MCI Center (which is traditionally cold and far from intimate), it is possible, as we witnessed perhaps for the first time ever on Saturday.
Granted, I've had some great memories from the MCI, maybe nothing that quite matched my freshman year at the US Air Arena before they closed it, but among others, it does include helping to start the first court rush ever against Louisville. However, the feeling of pouring out onto the street after storming the court and working myself into a frenzy after we beat Duke was unprecedented. Chinatown was temporarily transformed into Bourbon Street. It was like Mardi Gras, but full of HOYAS!!! The atmosphere on Saturday was unique and special.
JT III is building a program in many ways, on and off the court. By embracing the students, alumni and fan base, it will pay dividends in the long run - in fact, it already has.
I SALUTE YOU JT III!
LET'S GO HOYAS!!!

I think this will defeintly make sure there are plenty of students in the crowd.
Also just throwing this out there but the traffic on this sight is crazy lately it's so time consuming to keep up with all the stuff that gets posted here.

Just further evidence of how III is the perfect coach for this program...

Coach K and Jim Calhoun don't need to do this. In fact, Calhoun is known to bitch and moan when the crowd atmosphere is not to his liking. III knows that he is trying to build something back up again, knows the importance of doing everything right, and then goes out and does it.
This guy gets up every day and actually thinks about what he can do to improve this program. Recruiting, communicating to students, appearing on ESPN, etc.

Great to hear. I think JTIII sent a message to the students last year about support. It seems as if he is building on that and continuing to court the students. I wish I were a student again!

After someone had posted earlier saying that he overheard some students deciding not to come out this Saturday for the Cinci game for whatever reason, I had said I hoped one of the players or III would send out an e-mail asking for their continued support.
III, you read my mind. Many thanks.

Classy coach for a classy program. The best thing about the way we played against Duke was the attacking Princeton offense. Cuts or beat your man. We were the hunters that day. By the way all you students are my heros with the We Will Remind Them T's. Awesome.
