Just wanted to see what the board thought about something I was hoping/would suggest doing tonight against ND.
Coming off such a big win where so many kids played their butts off and reading about Ashanti needing to be assisted to lockerroom with cramping taking place, wouldn't be bad to get some run for the Bench early in game to keep the legs fresh. I know it's been 2 days since last game but emotionally this team is going to need to play at that level and in my opinion a great way to get that going is to give the bench some run early. Not just for starters/keeping guys fresh but to start to develop at least another player/two as we approach midway point in Big East season. Marc Egerson is a nice matchup with Russell Carter as they are similar players in size/athleticism and AKD could be effective for some minutes against Francis/use some fouls.
Just wondered what majority thought of this as I like to see more bodies play when you are coming off a big game as often you start slow or don't have the same "legs" you had during an intense 40 minute battle in an electric atmosphere. Being on the road will help focus of team, but wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of bench to help the cause as we're about to face more physical teams in conference and that can wear down a team who demands so much from starters.

Kind of hard to say if it's a good idea, since none of us our in practice or the state of mind of the players. Egerson and Sapp will get some run, since they pretty much always do. I'd like to ride Hibbert early on. They'll probably have to put Torin Francis on him, and I don't think Torin can stop Roy from getting good looks down low. Also, Francis is their only semi-decent post scorer, so foul trouble there would be great.
I expect to see a lot of zone defense from ND, so the game could be a three point shooting contest, since we know the Domers are going to launch it. If they don't go zone, take it at Colin Falls, whoever he's "defending." He's just about the most one-dimensional player in college basketball. But don't give him open looks from three.

I think what is important for tonight is for Big Roy Hibbert to shoulder the load...He had limited minutes against Duke and will be facing a team that is not known for its accomplished frontcourt - Jessie did get some significant minutes against Duke, so I think that our guards wil be OK but I am looking for Roy early and often this game and see where that takes us.

I like the suggestion. I think giving Spann and Egerson some burn would be good early. I think this is a game to focus in again on Roy. He has pretty much been a non-factor the last two games so he is due some mins and pts.

They didn't have an answer for freshman ROY HIBBERT last year---he could be due for a BIG game along with Jeff and BB if they zone us alot (lot of hi-lo stuff). I'm thinking tonight will be a coming out party for some good offensive mastery against a zone, like saturday was for an aggressive, overplaying man. I've watched my tape of the game 3 times (so far) and am in awe of their play---- COMING TOGETHER... GO HOYAS!!! MORE UNITY + MORE SELFLESSNESS + MORE HARD EFFORT + MORE HAVING FUN = MORE WINS!!! HOYA SAXA!!

As long as there is no let down, I think we'll be fine...But a let down is a distinct possibility
