Right now, as I'm consuming massive amouts of alcohol with Coast2Coast and Hoyatables, I'm remembering back on the moment right after the game when I walked past 7th and H Streets NW. It was bloody brilliant. Hoya fans everywhere, singing the fight song, a Fenty For Mayor flunkie trying to cop support. The cops even shut down the street due to the crowd. It was one of the few times I've ever felt a part of (I'll say it) Hoya Nation. Truly one of the best fan moments of my life.
Oh, and we freaking rock, no?

WOW! Cops closed the street?! A few blocks on 7th were closed off for a few minutes. They just really wanted to get people out of there so they could start prepping for the Caps game. Quote of the day, coming about 15 minutes after fans stormed the court, from the MCI PA announcer (not Fr. McFadden): "Attention students, apparently you're not listening. We need you to start leaving the court. There's another game here tonight."

Buffalo, it was great to see ya today (this is your old chem lab partner).
The streets all around MCI were shut down for at least a half hour (maybe longer, I dunno because I went to Cap City, just like you). My Chinatown moment: I walk from MCI. I encounter fans and friends, new and from years gone by. I bask in the warmth of an unusual January day. I consider our win. I stop. I think. I smile. My dad calls - he played college ball himself in the 70's. We share a man-to-man moment like none other I've had with my father. That's my Chinatown Moment.
Cheers to our Hoyas
