91-87 final. Sick offensive display for both teams. Pittsnoogle looks like he has a midrange game now. Still finding it hard to believe 'Nova lost despite shooting so well from 3. Just goes to show you how dangerous WVU really is.

It seems the rumors of WVU demise have been greatly exaggerated. If they beat Nova at home, it looks like anyone who predicted something besides a split w/ them for us is going to wrong.

Sumpter scheduled to see his doctor 1/9.
Will this game's outcame have any bearing on decisions to be made regarding his possible return???

Doesn't mean that much to me, anyone can be beat in any game in this league, WVU almost lost to South Florida the other night. We could easily sweep them and we could easily lose both to them. We shouldn't have beaten Nova on the road last year either, but we did. Then at home we couldn't handle them.

WV's style of play lends itself to huge ups and downs. Look at their wins and losses: completely inconsistent. Same last year. Got beaten by us, smacked everyone after that. Their game is high risk - high reward: rely on 3s, run a really strenuous D, keep going at it. When they're clicking, it's hard for any team to keep up, but they will also continue to lose against teams worse than them on paper because of it. Really fun to watch either way.
And Nova is still Final 4 for me. One of the most impressive teams in the country so far.

Syracuse only beat South Florida today at Syracuse 63-57. No easy games in BE.

Depends on the day you play someone I guess. When I was watching West Virginia from the Big East Tournament through the Elite 8 last year, I often wondered how in the world we handled them so easily a MCI in February. You never know. Nitrorebel's right, WVU more than any team I can think of in the BE lends itself to big highs and lows.
Wish I wasn't flying this afternoon and could have seen the game though, sounded like a good one.

WVU's crazy when they're clicking on offense.

I only caught the second half of the Nova/WVU game--it wasn't on ESPN plus here, but I found it eventually on a Philadelphia station on a non-cable tv... Nova was up 10 for most of the time, but WVU made a comeback toward the end. They just have a ton of shooters, everybody on the floor for them seems to be able to stroke it, which makes them really dangerous. I agree that they'll be inconsistent. They'll have nights when they're not really in their rhythm, when they'll lose or if the opponent isn't that good they'll squeak one out (like the USF game). But when they're hot, look out... That's how they made the Elite 8.

I didn't see this game, but what I don't understand is how the game was so close at halftime when Randy Foye was the only Villanova player to miss a shot from the field in the first half.
