Since I will be going up to visit my son for Christmas and New Years in Sacramento, I will probably not be posting much during the next week or two. Merry Christmas to all the Hoyas, alumni, friends, and fans.

Some opponent research:
Colgate’s Probable Starters No. Name Cl. Pos. Ht. Wt. 51 Alvin Reed Sr. G 6-1 194 14 Jon Simon Jr. G 6-0 185 3 Kendall Chones So. C 6-7 255 1 Kyle Chones So. F 6-6 220 13 Kyle Roemer So. F 6-3 225
That's right they start twins and no one over 6-7. They do have someone on the bench who is 6-10 but he seems less skilled than Kickingstallionsims. Roy should figure heavily in the game plan.
Least relevant statistic EVER: Colgate is 1-3 on Tuesdays.
Colgate is only scoring 58 points per game - this should be a pretty easy game for us defensively.
For a laugh go to their game notes (http://athletics.colgate.edu/MBasketball/gamenotes/SUN%20BOWL%20GAME%20NOTES.pdf) and check out the picture of Simon Knight who may or may not be doing Derrick Zoolander's Blue Steel (honorable mention on the photos goes to Kyle Roehmer for looking like that stoner everyone knew in high school).

Does anyone know if the Chones twins are related to former star Marquette center Jim Chones?

Does anyone know if the Chones twins are related to former star Marquette center Jim Chones? Yep, his kids. There seems to be more of them than Marsalis' but apparently I read there's actually only five.

Not much to say here, except that we should win by at least 15-20 points and hope UTEP can take care of business. That and I'm hoping Jessie and Marc continue to gain enough confidence and experience to make solid contributions as the 7th and 8th men in the rotation come Big East time.

I believe we're going to win this tournament. We can easily handle colgate and i think we can beat UTEP as well. Hopefully, UTEP will turn out to be a quality win. Is there anyway to follow these games besides going on to a site like ESPN and watching their play by play thing.

The best way to follow non televised games is to listen to the radio feed over the net. You can find a link on the front page. You can also join in at the chat room while listening to the game.

UTEP will not be an easy game. They are pretty good and their speed at guard will cause us problems- just as it has all season long vs other teams. No overconfidence- esp on someone else's home court. Work hard and come home with some Ws, Hoyas!

I unfortunately will not be able to attend these games despite having tix. My god-child is being born sometime in the next couple of days. I don't think that we should sleep on UTEP but from what I understand - we will be the first team that they have seen that a) has a big front line, b) runs a motion offense, c) is athletic as we are, d) runs a zone defense - bottom line this is more of a learning experience for them than it is for us. We have played 3 very loud and tough away games: JMU, Oregon, and Illinois - I don't think their crowd will phase us - plus game over the break = less students.

Check Kendall's bag for a stash of HGH!

I haven't seen their pictures but the reason for the height/weight discrepancy between the Chones twins would perhaps be that they are fraternal twins.

I'm dissapointed we won't be hearing any stories of stpete pregaming at a taco bar or any reports from people at the game.

I am disappointed as well - however, if it comes down to it I'm pretty sure I can get 980AM on-line from my laptop in the hospital as well.

It'd be classic if the first thing he/she heard upon exiting the womb was Chvotkin saying "hooker in the lane." But seriously, hope everything goes well with the birth and congratulations on becoming un padrino.
