We gotta go to the full-court press more...
Jeff BEASTED the 2nd half!!!
We aren't aggressive at all...
We had very little offense going towards the basket in the 1st half...
They beat the hell out of us on the boards...

can we pleaz now STOP talkin about where jeff is? Why arent we talking about BB. He is killing us and i would really deal bb for pe2 for 2nite. Heck, ne1 woulda been better than him 2nite. BB really was the killer for us. I mean we didnt get the best of calls- many MANY moving screens by illinois not called but in the end we still had the chance for the win and that says alot about this team with the 1st half we had. But pleaz BB ur going nowhere if you dont start playing this game right. 1 POINT??

Bowman needs to see that shrink from Office Space. Well, that guy is dead so scratch that. But he's got to find some way to relax. He's much better than this. Oh well.

He's been very frustrating to watch on defense and boxing guys out. The offensive game hasn't been much better.

Jeff is the one constant on the team that I was not worried about...
Did you see him go baseline?
Our guys don't play with any type of fire or urgency...

bb plain out stunk. he was augustines guy and as we all kno he had 10 and 13 boards which is just terrible. BB is alot more athletic than augustine-theres no reason for this 2 happen.

Bowman really was the missing link tonight. If he drew fouls, took some attention off of Jeff, and scored a little we would have been in good shape.
By the way, this is gonna get me killed, but as must as I hate Rudy Gay . . . his highlights on ESPN were amazing. Thats all, I don't like him but he's good.

If BB made the mistake and did jump to the NBA who knows what the outcome of tonight's game would have been, my guess better. But say he did go and we came within 5 or even did beat the Illini, all the talk would be picture this team if he did stay. And it was us who were yelling and screaming for him to come back. The next couple of games will make or break our season, we could go 5-0 and still have nothing good come out of it. But we could also go 5-0 and see Green as he was last year and BB actually look like he played basketball at some point in his life. All in all this is probably the 3rd best team we will play all year in one of the most hostile envirements we will play in all year. If we could score just 13 first half points and BB finish with 3 against the 10th best team in the country and lose by just 10 picture what we could do if we, speciffically BB, found the hoop.

After 5 games, there is no doubt in my mind that the team could not be worse if BB were not on it. No doubt at all. Ditto for Wallace.

Agression/Tempo need to be addressed with this team. I think too many halfcourt oriented teams think you have to play slow and that's not case at all--you need to play with urgency in any sport and with some fire/tempo in your cuts, passes, movement, screens, etc... and too many times in First Half of games you see GU playing as if they are involved in a 120 minute game instead of 40. There isn't time to adjust--you come out ready and you adjust at Half to what your opponent does--not fall behind and then play with urgency.
Hopefully most fans understand the difference between criticizing these aspects and don't think you need to play all out, run and gun. You just have to play with purpose and hunger and from opening tip I don't always see that from Hoyas.

When we play him now, we play him because of his potential and his status on the team, not his current performance. I'm not sure about that Wallace statement. He's at least working hard out there. I can't say that about Bowman.

Ok ok ok...I was yelling at Brandon all game long. I am very disappointed in his play, and I think that he is probably feeling exponentially more disappointed still. But we know Brandon, good and bad, and we know that he is a great athlete and has some skills. No way we are a better team without him. I hope that he comes out and has a great Big East season.
That being said, something needs to change. What about this: we move Brandon out to the 2 guard position, so that he has more space to manuever in. His skill set - a great first step and a streaky shot - means that he could fulfill the role of a Pippen, or more likely, a Lamar Odom. He tends to get caught with Roy between him and the basket in his current position. Starting line up of Ashanti at the 1, Brandon at the 2, Owens 3, Jeff 4, Roy 5. With the re-emergence of Crawford this game, we can afford to put both our swingmen out there at the same time. Wallace would be able to spell either Ashanti or Brandon. Just a thought...

Call it heart/passion/desire/balls... we don't see nearly enough of it on a game-by-game basis with this team. Goes to my 14 month-long complaint about their rebounding. Hopefully Summers or Macklin becomes the JYD of this generation of Hoyas...

I like the idea of BB as a 2 guard -- off the bench.

Enough of the "it's only the fourth game of the season" talk! What happened to BB in that NBA camp? Did he come back to earth from his NBA expectations? IMO his confidence is shattered. Don't get me wrong, I want BB to succeed and make it to the NBA as much as the rest of you. Nothing makes me prouder (in sports) than to see fellow Hoyas in the NBA. But, let's be realistic...
BB, we need you to be the best that you can be right now.
Nothing like five cupcakes to restore your confidence!!!

I don't like to say bad things about players, but I don't think we will hear much more talk about BB's NBA prospects.
Prove me wrong, BoBo.

When TWO of our STARTERS (Brandon and Wallace) don't make an impact, we're in for a long game. I think we need to mess with the starting line up; it didn't work at the end of last season, and it's not working this season.
If we start Sapp for Wallace, I think we'll get some harassing defense out of him. I also think bringing in Wallace and DO off the bench at the same time to "go small" could sneak up on some teams, after they had been dealing with Jeff, Brandon, and Hibbs. At this rate, maybe Brandon shouldn't start. If he doesn't produce, and his defense is poor, I say bring him off the bench and hopefully he'll get some fire. I guess my starting lineup until the first ref timeout would be Sapp, Cook, DO, Jeff, Hibbs. At the timeout, bring in Brandon for Sapp and let Cook run the point and have a really tall lineup in. Then you could bring in wallace for either cook, or DO. It's not as traditional, but what we're doing now isn't working perfectly anyway.
