I'm with Buffalo on this one. For a guy who's been a four year starter, you have to wonder why he didn't get the C on merits alone. Leadership has nothing to do with class status. It has do with the person and the intangibles they bring to the team. BB is good player and senior. That doesn't make him a leader. Ashanti is a leader. He spoke to the team after the loss at Vanderbuilt and made it his mission to make up for the poor play he had that game. Jeff is a leader as well. Its quite evident on the court. Courtland was a leader too. Just like Fred Brown was. Fred during his senior was far from the best player on the team. But he was a leader and starter for those qualities. I like BB, but he doesn't exert leadership.

Since Jeff has 3 roommates on the team, I figure he had 4 votes (including himself) walking in the door on election day. Not hard to see him sneaking past a split upper-class ticket to 2nd place.
Or, I may have watched too much Shields/Brooks the last few weeks,

I actually think Jeff's game *is* kinda flashy! He soars in the air, has a decent handle for a big guy, can drain the 3 on occasion. He looks graceful out there at times when other people can seem sort of clunky. His *personality* isn't flashy, but that's a different matter.
I do hope his production picks up, though. I agree with those who think he needs to do more if we're going to be a big-time team again.

_Way, completely agree with you. Brandon doesn't have the personality of a leader, I guess I just assumed he'd be one just because it's usually upperclassmen who get the nod, or that he would have just gotten it via default (a la Gerald Riley). But, you're right; Jeff has shown far more leadership on the court than Brandon, and is definitely deserving of being a captain.
And I don't think it's meaningless or trivial. Every good team needs a leader or two that it can look up to during tough times and can count on to will the team the victory both by performance and by leading by example.
