Page 2 did a mock bracket assembling all star teams for each college and then ranking them. sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hoops/tournament/indexHoyas Roster: Starters: C Dikembe F Ewing F Morning G Iverson G Sleepy Floyd Bench: G/F Reggie Williams F Michael Graham That's a sick team and Page 2 has us as #4 all time behind: #1 UCLA #2 UNC #3 LSU Hard to argue with those rankings...maybe you could argue we should be #3. Cool idea on ESPN's part. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and who they have winning it.

What's the team you'd throw out there? For ESPN, that's the best five; but if you were actually constructing a team that ahd to play this tourney, what's your five starters and eight (or so) man rotation?

I'd have Reggie start, Ewing at C and Dikembe being the backup. That way, you have even more offense (and another guy who can go inside or outside), along with already ridiculously good defense. Fun exercise, though.

Maybe throw Page and Sweets in there on the bench for some back court flexibility and another big body to bang up front (altho you are prob pretty set with the big 3)

Who's the backup wing? Wingate? Does a true point make the squad? What about a shooter, like Tillmon?
I got to Saxa's starting team:
Sleepy Allen Reggie Zo Pat
Dik Sweetney
but then stumbled on the backup guards and wings.

Some more good press on this subject, from someone outside the Hoya family: www.themightymjd.com/I don't know how many of you read his blog, but its pretty good. He gives his props to GTown as being the best team in the bracket: "Personally... I don't know how anyone would beat #4 seed Georgetown, with their front line of Ewing, Mutombo, and Mourning. If a you were lucky enough to get a shot off against those boys, you better not miss it, because you aren't getting the rebound... and after a good outlet pass, Allen Iverson is going to kill you on the fast break. Sure, they could be outquicked... but they could play zone all day, which means you aren't going inside, and you aren't penetrating. You better be able to shoot."

Yeah, I agree with that statement, HoyaSox. The only team I saw that could beat that lineup was UCLA. Figuring that our trio of big men could probably slow down their big men (and vice versa), it would come down to outside shooting between Reggie and Iverson. Gotta give Reggie the edge there.

Did anyone else notice that JT2 made the roster as a reserve for the Providence College entry?

The matchup between GU and LSU would be bear-awesome. Petit and Shaq down low versus Zo, Ewing and Dik. Chris Jackson Abdul-Raouf and Pistol Pete versus Sleepy and Allen. That'd be a fun, fun game.

Not that it matters at all, but Daily Quickie picked the Hoyas over everyone else this morning.

Starters:
Ewing Sweetney Reggie Floyd Iverson
Off bench Zo (only because you waste him at the PF spot and Sweetney is more of a natural at that position) Victor Page Michael Jackson Mutombo Wingate Braswell Bowman
