I'm looking forward to the day I'm inducted into the GU Hall of Fame. Showcase became a look-team god each fall during practices on Kehoe!
Actually, I was surprised Ewing wasn't already in the GU Hall of Fame.

I was kind of surprised this was the 4th story down the page on GUHoyas.com but you know how those things work at McD!!! I think they're displayed in order of posting, so the other stories may be more recent.

it's about time. i'm also surprised he wasn't already in. any idea if ewing will be honored at halftime of a hoya home game? he damn well better. i know we don't retire jersey numbers (i'd like to know why not, by the way), but something HAS to be done.

Two thoughts:
- I think there is a time requirement for induction into the Hall. I'm not sure that there are any Hoya alumni from classes earlier than the mid-80s currently in the Hall of Fame.
- I like the idea of honoring Patrick during a game, but I'm not sure how well his day job would allow him time to get to D.C. during a G'town game. I guess we'll have a better idea once the schedule comes out.

When asked why there were no retired numbers, Coach Thompspn always relpied, "We retire memories, not numbers."

The current time requirement, I am told, is not until twenty years after graduation for men, not until ten years for women.
Thompson players in the Hall: Derrick Jackson and John Duren. I have no recollection of Sleepy Floyd being admitted, though he has been eligible for a couple of years . . . Wonder why?

Im pretty sure I saw Sleepy Floyd's name on the men's basketball plaque in the Hall of Fame room in Leavey last year. Maybe I'm mistaken though.
