So the GU Bookstore Catalog arrives in the mail today and there's a couple of interesting things in it! To wit: 1) On page 3, there's a caption that reads, "There's a lot of might in that navy and white!" Ugh! I can just picture in my mind's eye the steam blasting out of DFW's ears when he reads that (see Elmer Fudd, circa 1948). Memo to efollett.com/Follett Higher Education Group: Georgetown is not Villanova--do not confuse us with our inferiors! 2) On page 7 the most garishly colored green sweatshirt in the history of humanity is featured with its matching Hoya lettered cap in green as well. Even a leprechaun wouldn't be caught dead in it. Memo to efollett.com/Follett Higher Education Group: Georgetown is not Notre Dame --do not confuse us with our inferiors! 3) The one excellent development is displayed on page 13. They are an Autograph Game and Mini Autograph Game Basketballs with alternating brown and white panels. But what's cool about the ball is that on one of the white panels is the bulldog logo and on one side of the logo it reads "Some Have Forgotten" and on the other side it reads "We Will Remind Them." Underneath the logo is printed "III." Finally, someone at Follett is paying attention!! Kudos to 007 and Hoya Blue for raising consciousness on this!!! 4) I won't even comment on the colors for women's wear in the catalog, not to mention in the actual Bookstore, except to say they encompass the rainbow except for Blue and Gray!! Harumph, Harumph, Harumph; Grumble, Grumble, Grumble of old fogey alum, WBH!! LOL

wow, those basketballs sound interesting, I'll have to see those at some point.
Another interesting development from the bookstore is a knock off of the We Are Georgetown shirt that I discovered when I went into the bookstore a few days ago. Its a shirt with the same exact front except that the bulldog and font are about half the size. On the back they went with the roman numeral III as well but in front of it they have JT.
I was really shocked when I saw it, and surprised that I hadnt been told about it. But it doesnt bother me, I figure that anything that spreads awareness and support for the basketball program is good. One bad thing about it is that they are being sold for $18!!!!

If you wear medium there are some left. There weren't any in our possession until we went over to McDonough a few days ago and someone gave us a bunch that had just been sitting there in a corner. When I saw that I was thinking about how much we could have used them last year because we had a major shortage.
Hopefully this year we can buy more shirts though so that we can keep the student section looking like a sea of gray all year rather than just at some of the games.

I would not worry much about what the bookstore does. The student-designed t-shirts always do better than the more expensive EFollett counterparts, especially the green, purple, and pink ones.

I do wear medium, I do, I do, I do, I do. Primarily to show off my 40-something beer gut around what used to be a 30-inch waist! hahahaha. Let me know how we can best conduct a transaction this week--I'll be on campus Thursday and Friday afternoons/evenings......

WBH must have eagle eyesight or something b/c I went right by that. I saw the basketballs, noted them, and moved on. Thank goodness for the sharp eyes on this board - always on the lookout for cool Hoyas stuff!

Got the catalog last night. It sucks. But then again, it's from eFollett. So that's typical.

I share the sentiment. I did realize I need a wear-to-work-quality Georgetown polo shirt but I'd rather not pay the $48 the bookstore wants - does anyone know of a better source for this?

I'm looking for GU golf headcovers for my woods. I've seen the one with "Georgetown" on it and the other with "Georgetown" and Jack the Bulldog. But, I'm looking for one with just Jack the Bulldog a la the Tiger that Tiger Woods uses for his woods. I saw it once a few years ago and have not seen them again.
Any ideas on where to find it?

Thanks. She must have seen them when I did. I've looked and looked and can't find them.
I've never made a transaction on E-Bay. Every time I enter I get overwhelmed and want to buy tons of stuff I never intended to buy in the first place. About six months ago, I entered the site and searched for the covers. I got about 300 hits, but not the Bulldog ones.

1. Yates Pro Shop. 2. Ebay. The online version Yates has 1 polo shirt for $45, so I guess I'll be periodically trying ebay.
