"Georgetown (2-17) has clinched the 10 seed and plays Wednesday at 6:30 pm."
Yes! Clinched the 10th seed!
Sorry - tongue in cheek, but I love how our game gets a prime time slot.

A quick look at the standings…we are only 7.5 games out of 9th place.
It is interesting that 9th place is 1 game under .500 in the conference.
Hopefully, with the help coming, we get out of the cellar.

Hopefully, with the help coming, we get out of the cellar. With us & DePaul being so historically awful, it's too bad that the middle of the conference has been so evenly matched (read: mediocre). SHU needed those wins against UConn & Marquette just to get to the bubble, and still could miss out at 13-7 in the conference. But they're about the only team in that mix whose non GU/DePaul record is fairly respectable. It's looking much more like a 5-bid league than anyone would have guessed three months ago. Big week in NYC! (not for us)

If we lose to SJU this weekend: it looks like Providence is probably the opponent -- but it still could be Nova or Xavier.
If we win: XU is our most likely opponent, followed closely by SJU, PC, and Villanova - in that order.

Good afternoon. I'm feeling confident about Wednesdays game no matter who we play. I think Cooley will have the team focused and ready for NY, especially Epps and Spears. One game at I time. I've been looking at company brand ticket websites for all-session tickets but the prices have been outrageous. I want to take my youngest son so he can experience our first game on Wednesday while also experiencing the whole tournament. It's been over 20years since I was last at the BET and I want him to see how magical it is and hopefully he will keep wanting to go to the tourney and root the Hoya's on.
Does anyone know of a website where individuals list their tickets for sale that wont be marked up so much or happen to know anyone that are selling their tickets ? Thanks, Hoyabball

Thanks, Hoyabball I would check Stub Hub or similar sites. The Wednesday tickets are rarely very pricey. Back where there were paper tickets the move was to Stubhub (or actually scalp tickets) to the first session. Once you were in for that you would then go up to the fans of the losing teams and buy their tickets to the next session. It was always quite the dance to not anger them further after their team lost and manage to get the tickets for a good price. I used to go to the games with enough cash to buy multiple tickets.

Now that Creighton & Marquette won, we'll play PC as long as they don't beat UConn.
Third time's the charm.
If they somehow beat the Huskies, we get Nova.

Third shot at PC. And my goodness - a loss would literally end their tournament hopes. I don't think we will win - but you can bet the PC fan nervousness level will be at 99. Nothing to lose.

Part of me just wants the season to end so the entire staff can focus on evaluation and recruitment. Does one more win really change anything about this season? For me, it does not.

No, you're probably right. But it is Providence. Is there no part of you that wouldn't relish a BET win over the Fryers? I'd be o.k. with it, esp. as I believe that the staff has been focused on the portal for a while now.

I hear what you're saying, but would actually quite enjoy beating PC and potentially knocking them out of at-large consideration. A one-day extension of the season isn't going to cut deeply into the time for evaluation and recruitment, because we'll still be able to jump into that a week ahead of any teams playing in the NCAA or NIT.

Ultimately, does the win or loss tomorrow matter? Not really. To me, it would be nice to get that third win. Does it really mean much? No but it would give us one more win than the last Ewing year and at least it would get a little bit of attention and feed into the “Cooley will turn things around” narrative (I’d prefer a “Cooley IS turning things around” narrative but it’s too late for that barring a miracle BET run.)
Maybe more importantly, I think it would mean a lot to the team to win a game at the BET. It’s been a tough season, and I am sure it would be a pick me up for all the players who had to endure it.
I think sometimes we forget that as much as it’s been unpleasant being a Hoyas fan the last several years, actually being a player on a team losing that much is super tough to endure. So a win for them would be great even if it ultimately has little meaning.
And lastly, while Providence may need more than 1 win against us to make the tournament, I think Cooley and his staff would get some satisfaction in ending their tournament hopes.

It’s kind of funny that Providence is playing us. It’s truly a no-win situation for them. A win over our execrable team doesn’t even help their bubble status, while a loss to us definitely kills their tourney chances. It would certainly be a quasi-happy ending for Georgetown in what has been an annoying and exhausting year-long saga with the Friars.
On our side, a win would be nice, but we’d need to string together a few wins to do anything to nudge the narrative that this has been a lost season.
