Our team couldn't handle the physical uptick that X brought in the 2nd half...and I believe that the refs were trying to keep X on the bubble....we didn't get nearly as many calls as X....Heath missed 2 big 3s that were in and out. Just one of those may change the outcome because they push the lead back to double digits....the loss sucks but I'm not as down as most of the board. This was probably the 1st gm this season against a decent team that we weren't trying to steal in the 2nd half....we were actually up for the majority of the gm and were trying desperately to hold on....

Could not stop Claude. That, and free throws. Could not stop... Posh Alexander. David Joplin. Trey Alexander. Kadary Richmond. Alex Karaban. Pierre Brooks. Devin Carter. Dre Davis. Baylor Scheierman. Justin Moore.

This game was reffed horribly. Claude was just failing into people and getting calls. The 5th on Styles was egregious. Way too many calls but doesn't matter. Up 12 at HT. Figure it out. Didn't say that's why we lost. Just feel like this was a NCAA tourney game I was watching.

Could not stop Claude. That, and free throws. Styles did a decent job on Claude, but foul trouble and severe problems with switches putting Claude on Epps, Rowan, and Heath who were horribly mismatched on him. Currently the Hoyas don't have any match for Claude with size, speed, on ball skill, and skills in general. Watching Caleb Williams last night, who is coming next year, he is similar type of player and similar size (but needs to find a gym), but will be a freshman next year. Not sure how much he could help next year, but Hoyas will have a player that is depth that can help. (Like Claude, Williams seems to be missing a decent outside shot).

I would say it’s a bad look that Ryan didn’t even get a token appearance on his Senior a night but of course this was just a manufactured Senior Night to get more fans since the Providence game will have good attendance regardless.

Portal mostly pick-up castoff, but can find occasional players going mid-major up. But, that usually isn't bigs that are good, which is one large need. Often there are a lot of decent shooting guards and wings as grad transfers. Often the transfer players have gaps in their games. Three really good freshman coming and one who seems could become good (one is here red shirting already). There are still two openings at the moment for next year. There's 4. One is here already. But, of the four, three should be able to contribute a fair amount next year as two are top 100 and one top 150. The other has strong upside with work and focus.

And Claude gets away with all those chicken wings, same with McKnight. Again not why we lost but I hate games reffed like that in conference. This isn't the ACC.

Brumbaugh, Cook and Styles are the building blocks. Maybe Fielder. I was told at the beginning of the season that Cooley would land the plane during close games. Cool and Styles are backups at best unless their defense vastly improves. Rowan has potential. Fielder probably has a chance of Fielder doesn’t try to force him to play the 5.

someone should ask Ed why Bristol didn't play until the last minute. Fielder I get was in foul trouble, but I would have at least let him foul out before allocating those minutes to others who literally have given us nothing in a month plus.

Refs don’t give up repeated wide open dunks. We also had 3 throat chops in like 2 minutes. The refs only called 2. They definitely missed a lot of calls but it was way closer that Hoyas fans will want to admit. We have the reds all the excuses they needed especially during that meltdown as the game was melting away. We are defense talent deficient but teaching a zone is as much about coaching than anything. Our guys just don’t get it and are constantly lost. Not sure who to blame but it’s remarkable.

The personnel choices during the meltdown were so questionable. He’s decided to live and die with Massoud at the 4 and he’s been killed over and over.

Again not why we lost but I hate games reffed like that in conference. This isn't the ACC. He put his arm on him from stopping him getting him by and then he uprooted him. They were quick to call uprooting fouls tonight both ways. Some refs definitely don’t call it that tight but Styles should’ve known if he was paying attention. The coaches should’ve said something if they didn’t.

When he’s out at the 5 he’s too small and inexperienced and gets abused. Teams also put him the in PnR which is common which is more common in the 1/5 than 1/4. He would have trouble at the 4 as well but I think he would have a better shot. Cooley must see Sorber as a 4 and is trying to groom Drew as the 5.
