Heading down midday from Boston to see (I hope) a competitive game and a Hoya win. I don't ask for much.

these kids need to show some pride and effort on the defensive end.

This would be a great night for Epps and others to be "on" shooting. While we are still a big underdog, this is a very winnable game if things go right and we play better. Villanova is a very bad shooting team. From three, they shoot worse than us--3.3% (199th ranked), and from two they shoot 50.5% (ranked 169th). They are not the type of team that should light us up (then again, we often give wide open shots and so maybe they will).
On defense, they don't force turnovers, either. Again--not an easy game (none are), but it's winnable.

We have the far better coach, Kyle Neptune barely has a .500 record (46-44 overall). Should be a win for the Hoyas, love the moneyline tonight.

In conference, they're shooting .344% to Gtown's .311% That being said it is a winnable game, not highly because I think their length will bother Epss but winnable still.

Neptune will probably put Armstrong on Epps so won't use his team's length advantage.

"After getting back on track with a dominant all-around performance against Seton Hall, Villanova is headed down to Washington D.C. for its first look of the season against Georgetown, who’s been stuck in neutral — maybe even reverse — for the entire season... During the offseason, when the Hoyas were able to successfully coax Ed Cooley to leave Providence and come to Georgetown, there was a brief jolt of excitement... According to KenPom, Georgetown is ranked No. 96 in offensive efficiency, but they are a staggering 311st out of 362 Division I teams in defensive efficiency. While Cooley has coached some tough teams and squads that have given Villanova some serious battles in recent years, it doesn’t appear that his message or style has translated right away in his first year... While rivalry games can be unpredictable at times, the ‘Cats should — on paper — run away with this game." www.vuhoops.com/villanova-basketball/2024/2/16/24074523/villanova-basketball-2023-24-game-preview-georgetown-hoyas-college-hoops-big-east

I do not think that Epps needs to be on a heater to win- on the contrary, we need balanced scoring: Cook his usual 12-14, likewise Styles and the kids need to play and contribute: 20 pts. A couple of 3s by Bristol and some nastiness. Even Ish? Heath is capable every 15 games or so....if he gets in the flow and doesn't dribble in circles...yea a lot of IFs there...... Another beer and shot here!

Heath with some high arc on that shot. Hopefully that’s a sign that everyone is healthy.

Momentum is a fickle thing, hopefully we don’t collapse after the first 4 minutes.
