You just violated board rules. How so? “2. NO personal attacks on fellow posters...” It’s why I don’t return your personal attack. Btw, it was an awful shot for a player averaging 34% 2FG. Maybe if he took better shot, he would improve and help the team with more points and better efficiency.

I long for the day we can once again debate basketball topics like resume, quality wins, seeding, etc. like a normal program.

I did call the people who come here to troll that I often block a name. That shot from Heath isn't where he has problems usually. He doesn't take many of those, but his 2 point shot problem is most often driving and not able to finish. He has a spot around just above the right elbow he shoots well from, but that shot he gets covered on closely. I haven't seen a Hoya shot heat map in about 4 or 5 weeks (maybe more). But, that spot you complained about is a okay shot area for Heath, or was.

We’re talking about it because he made it. If you cannot admit that, I will not say you don’t know anything about the game like you did.

There’s not much point talking about the game itself. But I will say this: If we’re really talking about Cooley building “culture”, then Heath and Massoud would be on the bench and Rowan and either Bristol or Fielder should start. Rowan and Fielder aren’t perfect, but they’re at least trying. Effort has to be the table stakes to play for Gtown.

We’re talking about it because he made it. If you cannot admit that, I will not say you don’t know anything about the game like you did. I say that is one of his spots. Players have their spots that are solid and can take covered shot and have it go. This wasn't a pretty shot, but it is one he hits from. I don't now that I've seen hit a turn around from any spot before, but that spot is one of the few that have been decent. Heath takes a lot of bad shots. I don't know that Heath hunts his good spots, there is a lot in his game (and Ish's) that are characteristic of players who haven't had good coaching along the way. I know you've watched opposing players who know their spot(s) and can take crazy shots from them. Most players know their spots and they will put up a shot from there. Most have put in a few thousand shots and makes from their sports. Opposing teams most often know the spots and don't let you get to them. If you watch games with top high school, travel, and D1 coaches and a player makes a shot from their spot and a crazy shot goes in everybody turns to each other and says, "that's their spot". It wasn't a great shot, but it is a spot Heath has done well with in what I think is limited <10 shots from, but it is a good percentage spot. Like I said above, I don't know that Heath has or knows his spots. I haven't watched Heath warm up (not been to many Hoya games since lockdown and only a few Kenner games). Players warm up on their spots to get themselves going, no mater the level of competition.

is there any way to turn this around next season? Cooley has his recruits coming next year (only Fielder of the three came with him). But, incoming 4 have 2 top recruits in a really good guard and a big. Also have a good forward and one other, whom I don't know much about. Hoyas have been the youngest team on the court in all the BE games, that will start to change. Hoyas are playing against not only more mature teams but also teams that have 2 or more players who started together last year. Only having 2 players who had okay playing time with the Hoyas last year really wasn't going to be a fact that would have anybody thinking this would be a great season and being good could be a challenge. Cooley and his staff have been really good pulling players in the transfer portal to fill in slots. Cooley and his staff have been solid recruiters and have deep recruiting books. His best recruit for next year, Mulready was going to Providence and switched. The most promissing as far as scoring is McKenna, who moved his high school graduation up and has been at Georgetown this semester as a redshirt. Keep in mind all of these players are young, but it is building to a good future. Hoyas are out of Ewing's player rental agency with panic recruiting. It takes time ot have this make a difference. Adding a seasoned big and depth at point could help from transfer portal. Was at Marquette game last week and had tickets for game today but caught Covid (thankfully just a mild case) and so didn't have the distinction of seeing both these last two debacles in person. But face it, not one of our starters would start on any of the top 5 BE teams (defintely not the top 3). So it has to be a complete rebuild with possibly freshmen Brumbaugh and Fielder growing into starters by Junior year. Like most of you I had hoped for at least 5-6 BE wins this year but obviously rebuilding in the BE is a lot like learning to drive at the Indy 500. So sit back and take whatever enjoyment you can get from remaining games.

I am being serious. He hasn't taken many of those, maybe 8 to 10, but has made 5 or 6. It is a Points are points and that is a decent shot for Heath. Heath mostly drives all the way and struggles or shoots 3s. His above elbow is a little less successful, but an okay shot. I'm not sitting around and being angry about everything, but paying attention to what works and doesn't. Can you walk and chew gum? Moderator comment: take it down a notch and have more respect for fellow posters here.

So sit back and take whatever enjoyment you can get from remaining games. I was happy to see Rowan and Drew to get decent time today. They are the future, both want to be at Georgetown and with Cooley, so getting them time to adjust their games will help a lot in the long run. Talking with a couple D1 coaches in the big 5 level about the change from transfer portal and they both said they have 5 to 6 players they hope and plan to have for all their eligibility and you recruit around them and behind them. That balance of recruiting behind players gets tricky with the transfer portal. Cooley came into a program with nothing to build or recruit around (tough to say, "come play with these great players and become one" when there is an empty cupboard). I had hoped the Hoyas would have been better, but they do keep improving (with some games taking large steps back) and coming together as a team. I don't think many were thinking about this year being about this year. The only upside of having the most senior players in the game is setting winning patterns and ability to compete against more mature teams. But, I agree that Fielder over Ish time has come for preparing for the future (Fielder added more today than Ish) and getting Rowan more time.

Planning for the future is from days in the past, unfortunately.
With the portal, NIL,etc. the future is now.

Engaged some very civil UConn fans at the Irish Channel postgame. FWIW, they think Cooley can return the Hoyas to respectability.
