Assuming Notre Dame wants to remain a football independent, I'd think they would make a ton of sense as a 12th member when ACC implodes.

The link to the complaint in the FSU vs. ACC suit in Tallahassee AND the the ACC's much longer first-filed suit in ITS homecourt the day before for all the lawyers out there (of which I know there are a few). As those lawyers all know, the next step in this will likely be motions to each court to stay its hand/suit in favor of the other -- being first filed a big factor in such motions (which is why potential plaintiffs need to stay quiet with their threats of suit until they ACTUALLY FILE) but not by itself dispositive as I recall. Assuming FSU succeeds in blowing up the contract and the ACC exodus begins, where do we actually think they’ll end up? Does the SEC want to add a school that won’t actually expand its geographic reach? Does the Big Ten want Florida State? (UNC and UVA seem like more desirable fits for both conferences.) At the end of the day I’m confident that the Seminoles will end up in one of the two main conferences, but it’s kind of amusing to think of the possibility that they land in the Big XII.

University of Florida will keep them out of the SEC, FSU is Big Ten-bound.

FSU will open the door for others to follow.

Also not impressed by Florida State's assertion that the Circuit Court in Leon County FL is the proper jurisdictional venue for the hearing of this suit. Thinking it's more likely that (a) the suit goes forward in North Carolina and not in Florida, or (b) it gets removed to a federal court in either NC or FL. Looking forward to seeing where Boston College winds up after the ACC implodes.

The cases will stay in state court. ACC is an unincorporated association, so it takes the citizenship of its members. Since FSU and Miami are Florida citizens, the ACC is a Florida citizen. QED: no diversity jurisdiction.
And I agree this is ending in a breakup. Each side’s lawsuit is really about maximizing or minimizing the cost

What a giant stinker being laid by F ailed to S how U p I don’t place any value on the scores of the non-playoff bowl game this year. They are the equivalent of international soccer friendlies at this point. If FSU was playing UGA in a real game, I still think they’d have lost, but it wouldn’t have been by 60.

Not a real game and why I don't follow college football much except for a passing interest in Navy football. Those who did show up for FSU were the second stringers: FSU players skipping Orange Bowl At least 23 Seminoles have made the decision to not play in the Orange Bowl. That includes nine players opting out to declare for the NFL draft and 14 players who have entered the transfer portal. There are plenty of big names on the list of players skipping the game, including Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson and Jaheim Bell. The trio accounted for 53 percent of receiving yards on the season and 15 of 25 touchdowns through the air. Not to mention, backup QB Tate Rodemaker has announced his decision to transfer. www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-football/news/fsu-players-skipping-orange-bowl-opt-out/abbadeee6ef4be0b6507dd89

When Bama got left out last year for clearly inferior TCU, they did not bitch, complain, cry, sue or skip the game.
They showed up; every single one of them including the Number 1 pick in the draft.
Character counts; FSU showed none.

It’s far from just FSU who had significant numbers of opt outs, or who half assed their bowl games. It’s not the Noles devaluing non-playoff bowl games, it’s the NCAA/BCS. Can’t blame the kids with aspirations of nfl or transfers to better schools from treating the orange bowl as if it were the Pro Bowl.

I wonder if the next round of NIL deals in Football includes some language linking a percentage of the payout to playing in a Bowl game if the team makes one and the player is healthy.
