People already complaining because we loss to holy cross. News flash Hoyas have 3 returning scholarship players from a dead last team. We got 5 transfers and 2 freshman and 5 walk ons to be competitive is already a plus. Give it time he hasn’t even had a first recruiting class . He had to pretty much throw together what he could get team. You can say what you want in the first 2 games we looked better than last season by a long shot way better. I like what I am seeing myself. Wins want determine this season. It will be growth of fielder Epps and Brumbaugh and mutombo and styles. Most everyone else except walk ons will be gone. Have to give it at least 3 years.

That’s the problem was Catholics - If the dude doesn’t walk on water, it’s not good enough for them, I joke, but there are plenty of fans around here, who are incapable of experiencing joy at this point, because they put too much of their own self-worth into how some kids play a game that they don’t even understand, and most of them have never even played. They think they are flexing their analytical skills by ragging on our coach and the kids, but really all they’re doing is showing their own sadness.

I understand your point but think it is not entirely fair. Fans are disappointed and should be. Not an excuse for personal attacks on players or coaches but I have not seen those yet. Even given all the points you make concerning the new players, it is not unrealistic to think that based upon talent alone, they should be capable by this point to beat a team of Holy Cross' caliber. This team may not be the most talented squad out there, but as the coach acknowledged post-game, a lot of what happened in the final moments of the game had little to do with talent and more to do with composure and effort. What I saw was a team that looked a little panicked and was out-hustled by a less talented squad, particularly in terms of rebounding.
I actually gained even more respect for Cooley because of his post-game comments in which he did not attempt to absolve himself, his staff or his players. I expect this team to improve. I am concerned about the interior game, but expect that the coaches can adapt a system that fits the skill set of the current players, including Ryan.

We are all suffering from Ewing-PTSD. We will be subject to flashbacks for at least a couple of seasons until we can establish a different experience.
