It’s time for the on-court beginning of the Cooley Era on the Hilltop! Well, at least in three weeks….
Now that the pre-season Associated Press Top 25 has finally been released, I am posting the first Games of Interest thread for the 2023-2024 college basketball season. As before, each week’s Games of Interest will be posted sometime on each Monday; the next posting will be on Monday, November 13. Each post will contain the schedules for Big East Conference teams, for Georgetown’s out-of-conference opponents, and for the most recent AP Top 25, for the period of Monday through the following Monday.
For Big East teams, home games will usually be played at the following locations: Butler (Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indianapolis IN), Connecticut (Gampel Pavilion, Storrs CT), Creighton (CHI Health Center Omaha, Omaha NE), DePaul (Wintrust Arena, Chicago IL), Georgetown (Capital One Arena, Washington DC), Marquette (Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee WI), Providence (Amica Mutual Pavilion, Providence RI), St. John’s (Carnesecca Arena, Queens NY), Seton Hall (Prudential Center, Newark NJ), Xavier (Cintas Center, Cincinnati OH) and Villanova (Finneran Pavilion, Villanova PA). When home games are being played in other locations, that location will be listed.
There are four Big East Conference schools in the first Associated Press Top 25, three of which are in the top eight; Marquette is #5, Connecticut is #6, and Creighton is #8, while Villanova is #22. St. John’s and Xavier also received votes in the first poll.
All times listed are Eastern Standard Time (which returns on November 5). NOTE: UPDATED AS OF 6:03 AM ON NOVEMBER 12
