He's listed on the the HoyaSaxa roster. Hate to assume, but having that there says that he and others here at the university think he is going to attend school here
I had asked about hin and Donovan about a month ago -- didn't really get much that was all that definitive.
That list is not official, of course, but Asad was reported by two different media sources as to his ties as a walk-on. As to Muresan, there's been nothing but it is presumed he's back. As GU reminds us, however, the roster is not available at this time. Does a name get added or dropped? They won't say; why, we don't know. --Admin

What do we know about Asad? Is there any video of him? What's the level of play in the Kuwaiti AAU haha? For me, I'm intrigued. I don't know what the process is for walk-ons, but he's got to have a lot of confidence to think he can come here and make the team. More likely it has been communicated to him that the conditions are favorable for him to make the team. Maybe that's where the last scholly will go? There's video. He can shoot the three and pick and roll. The level of play of the Kuwaiti team is that they got absolutely BTFO by Japan in the Asian championships 98-33. Fingers crossed he'll be a good practice player. If they spend a scholarship on this kid I go from #1 Ed Cooley fan to hoyaboya disciple. That's an odd statement. Why let a scholarship go unused. If you have an extra scholarship, heck, give it to a walk on...

That's an odd statement. Why let a scholarship go unused. If you have an extra scholarship, heck, give it to a walk on... Ed Cooley has publicly stated he'll hold on to one, maybe two scholarships, likely in case there is a mid-year transfer. In this era of players jumping unexpectedly, having an extra grant in aid could be impactful.

That's an odd statement. Why let a scholarship go unused. If you have an extra scholarship, heck, give it to a walk on... Because that is essentially waving the white flag on recruiting and giving up. I mean, it's a gracious gesture and all giving a scholarship to a walk-on, but it is quitting on improving your team. Usually coaches give scholarships to a long-time walk-on - not an incoming kid who has never played for them before. Ed Cooley was a lead recruiter for years and has a lot more patience than people on this board, and I don't think Cooley thinks he is done. I forget which interview it was from, but Cooley mentioned he got a commitment from Jared Dudley in late August when he was BC's lead recruiter.
